Greenhouse gas emissions from municipal solid waste management in Indian mega-cities: A case study of Chennai landfill sites
TL;DR: CH4 emission estimates were found to be about 0.12Gg in Chennai from municipal solid waste management for the year 2000 which is lower than the value computed using IPCC, 1996 [IPCC, 1996] methodologies.
Journal Article
Climate change and malaria in India
TL;DR: It is projected that malaria is likely to persist in Orissa, West Bengal and southern parts of Assam in 2050s, however, it may shift from the central Indian region to the south western coastal states of Maharashtra, Karnataka and Kerala.
Journal ArticleDOI
Significance of interface barrier at electrode of hematite hydroelectric cell for generating ecopower by water splitting
Journal ArticleDOI
Sol-gel-derived super-hydrophilic nickel doped TiO2 film as active photo-catalyst
Sunil Dutta Sharma,Davinder Singh,K.K. Saini,Chander Kant,Vikash Sharma,S.C. Jain,Chhemendra Sharma +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, the photo-catalytic activity of pure and nickel-doped TiO2 thin films on soda glass substrates was characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), atomic force microscopy (AFM), XPS, and UV-vis-near IR techniques.
Journal ArticleDOI
A study for development of emission factors for trace gases and carbonaceous particulate species from in situ burning of wheat straw in agricultural fields in india
Shivraj Sahai,Chhemendra Sharma,D.P. Singh,C. K. Dixit,Nahar Singh,P. Sharma,Khem Singh,S. Bhatt,Sachin D. Ghude,Vivek Gupta,Raj K. Gupta,M.K. Tiwari,S. C. Garg,Abhijit Mitra,Prabhat K. Gupta +14 more
TL;DR: In this article, an in situ experiment for wheat straw burning was undertaken for developing India specific emission factors (EFs) and the EFs of CO 2, CH 4, CO, N 2 O, NO x, NO and NO 2 were found to be 1787 ± 36, 3.6 ± 2.7, 28.1 ± 20.
