TL;DR: At 1 year after surgery, the transplanted sheet of retinal pigment epithelial cells remained intact, best corrected visual acuity had not improved or worsened, and cystoid macular edema was present.

TL;DR: The tumorigenic potential of induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC)-derived retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) for the treatment of wet-type, age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is reported and it is concluded that the iPSC-derived RPE was negligible.

TL;DR: The base-resolution methylome of the iPSC-derived retinal pigment epithelium (iRPE) used in the first-in-human trial of induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC)-based autologous transplantation was delineated and should provide a useful guide for methylome analyses of other iPSS-derived cells.

TL;DR: In this paper , a quality control method and preclinical studies for tissue-sheet transplantation were presented. But none of the results demonstrated the rationale toward self-organizing retinal sheet transplantation therapy and no transplant-related adverse events were observed.
