Association of Aortic Stiffness With Left Ventricular Remodeling and Reduced Left Ventricular Function Measured by Magnetic Resonance Imaging The Multi-Ethnic Study of Atherosclerosis
Yoshiaki Ohyama,Bharath Ambale-Venkatesh,Chikara Noda,Atul R. Chugh,Gisela Teixido-Tura,Gisela Teixido-Tura,Jang Young Kim,Sirisha Donekal,Kihei Yoneyama,Ola Gjesdal,Ola Gjesdal,Alban Redheuil,Chia Ying Liu,Tetsuya Nakamura,Colin O. Wu,W. Gregory Hundley,David A. Bluemke,Joao A.C. Lima +17 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors assess cross-sectional associations of aortic stiffness assessed by magnetic resonance imaging with left ventricular (LV) remodeling and myocardial deformation in the Multi-Ethnic Study of Atherosclerosis (MESA).
Journal ArticleDOI
Aortic Arch Pulse Wave Velocity Assessed by Magnetic Resonance Imaging as a Predictor of Incident Cardiovascular Events: The MESA (Multi-Ethnic Study of Atherosclerosis).
Yoshiaki Ohyama,Bharath Ambale-Venkatesh,Chikara Noda,Jang Young Kim,Yutaka Tanami,Gisela Teixido-Tura,Atul R. Chugh,Alban Redheuil,Chia Ying Liu,Colin O. Wu,W. Gregory Hundley,David A. Bluemke,Eliseo Guallar,Joao A.C. Lima +13 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors evaluated the association of aortic arch pulse wave velocity (PWV) with incident CVD events in MESA (Multi-Ethnic Study of Atherosclerosis).
Journal ArticleDOI
Ten-year longitudinal change in aortic stiffness assessed by cardiac MRI in the second half of the human lifespan: the multi-ethnic study of atherosclerosis
Yoshiaki Ohyama,Gisela Teixido-Tura,Gisela Teixido-Tura,Bharath Ambale-Venkatesh,Chikara Noda,Atul R. Chugh,Chia Ying Liu,Alban Redheuil,R. Brandon Stacey,Harry C. Dietz,Antoinette S. Gomes,Martin R. Prince,Arturo Evangelista,Colin O. Wu,W. Gregory Hundley,David A. Bluemke,Joao A.C. Lima +16 more
TL;DR: In this longitudinal, community-based cohort study of adult individuals aged 45 years or greater, greater mean blood pressure and a history of smoking history were associated with increased aortic stiffening over 10 years as assessed by MRI.
Journal ArticleDOI
Reproducibility of functional aortic analysis using magnetic resonance imaging: the MESA.
Chikara Noda,Bharath Ambale Venkatesh,Yoshiaki Ohyama,Chia Ying Liu,Elzbieta Chamera,Alban Redheuil,Gisela Teixido-Tura,Atul R. Chugh,Colin O. Wu,Gregory Hundley,David A. Bluemke,Joao A.C. Lima +11 more
TL;DR: MRI can provide a repeatable method of measuring aortic structural and functional parameters and intra- and inter-observer reproducibility of all aorti variables was excellent, suggesting that it is acceptable to measure thoracic aorta measurements by MRI.
Journal ArticleDOI
Baseline assessment and comparison of arterial anatomy, hyperemic flow, and skeletal muscle perfusion in peripheral artery disease: The Cardiovascular Cell Therapy Research Network "Patients with Intermittent Claudication Injected with ALDH Bright Cells" (CCTRN PACE) study.
Bharath Ambale Venkatesh,Victor Nauffal,Chikara Noda,Tomoki Fujii,Phillip C. Yang,Judy Bettencourt,Erin P. Ricketts,Michael P. Murphy,Nicholas J. Leeper,Lemuel A. Moyé,Ray F. Ebert,Raja Muthupillai,David A. Bluemke,Emerson C. Perin,Alan T. Hirsch,Joao A.C. Lima +15 more
TL;DR: The PACE study as mentioned in this paper is a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial designed to assess the physiologic impact and potential clinical efficacy of autologous bone marrow-derived ALDH br stem cells.
