Delayed Microvascular Shear Adaptation in Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension. Role of Platelet Endothelial Cell Adhesion Molecule-1 Cleavage.
Robert Szulcek,Chris Happé,Nina Rol,Ruud D. Fontijn,Chris Dickhoff,Koen J. Hartemink,Katrien Grünberg,Ly Tu,Ly Tu,Wim Timens,G.D. Nossent,Marinus A. Paul,Thomas A. Leyen,Thomas A. Leyen,Anton J.G. Horrevoets,Frances S. de Man,Christophe Guignabert,Christophe Guignabert,Paul B. Yu,Anton Vonk-Noordegraaf,Geerten P. van Nieuw Amerongen,Harm Jan Bogaard +21 more
TL;DR: Delayed shear adaptation, which promotes shear-induced endothelial injury, is a newly identified dysfunction specific to the microvascular endothelium in PAH.
Journal ArticleDOI
Salvage surgery for locoregional recurrence or persistent tumor after high dose chemoradiotherapy for locally advanced non-small cell lung cancer.
Chris Dickhoff,Max Dahele,Marinus A. Paul,P. M. van de Ven,A.J. de Langen,Suresh Senan,Egbert F. Smit,Koen J. Hartemink +7 more
TL;DR: Salvage surgery for locoregional recurrence or persistent tumor after high dose chemoradiotherapy, resulted in acceptable morbidity, mortality and promising outcome and should be considered as a treatment option for selected patients.
Journal ArticleDOI
Diaphragm fiber strength is reduced in critically ill patients and restored by a troponin activator
Pleuni E. Hooijman,Albertus Beishuizen,Monique C. de Waard,Frances S. de Man,J. W. Vermeijden,Pascal Steenvoorde,R. Arthur Bouwman,Wies Lommen,Hieronymus W. H. van Hees,Leo M. A. Heunks,Chris Dickhoff,Donald L. van der Peet,Armand R. J. Girbes,Jeff R. Jasper,Fady I. Malik,Ger J.M. Stienen,Koen J. Hartemink,Marinus A. Paul,Coen A.C. Ottenheijm +18 more
TL;DR: This study obtained diaphragm biopsy specimens from critically ill patients undergoing laparotomy or thoracotomy, and compared them with control patients undergoing elective lung surgery to test the ability of the fast skeletal troponin activator, CK-2066260, to improve contractile strength.
Journal ArticleDOI
Nintedanib improves cardiac fibrosis but leaves pulmonary vascular remodelling unaltered in experimental pulmonary hypertension
Nina Rol,Michiel Alexander de Raaf,Xiaoqing Q Sun,Vincent P Kuiper,Denielli da Silva Goncalves Bos,Chris Happé,Kondababu Kurakula,Chris Dickhoff,Raphaël Thuillet,Raphaël Thuillet,Ly Tu,Ly Tu,Christophe Guignabert,Christophe Guignabert,Ingrid Schalij,Kirsten Lodder,Xiaoke Pan,Franziska Herrmann,Geerten P. van Nieuw Amerongen,Pieter Koolwijk,Anton Vonk-Noordegraaf,Frances S. de Man,Lutz Wollin,Marie-José Goumans,Robert Szulcek,Harm Jan Bogaard +25 more
TL;DR: While in rats with experimental PH nintedanib has no effects on the pulmonary vascular pathology, it has favourable effects on RV remodelling, which could be explained by less fibronectin production by cardiac fibroblasts exposed to nintinganib.
Journal ArticleDOI
Endobronchial Treatment for Bronchial Carcinoid: Patient Selection and Predictors of Outcome.
Ellen M. B. P. Reuling,Chris Dickhoff,Peter W. Plaisier,Veerle M.H. Coupé,Albert H A Mazairac,Rutger J. Lely,H. Jaap Bonjer,Johannes M.A. Daniels +7 more
TL;DR: Purely intraluminal disease and tumor diameter on CT scan seem to be independent predictors for successful endobronchial treatment in patients with bronchial carcinoid.
