Disease detection methodologies in relapsed B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia: Opportunities for improvement.
Haneen Shalabi,Constance M. Yuan,Amita Kulshreshtha,Alina Dulau-Florea,Dalia A. Salem,Gaurav K. Gupta,Mark J. Roth,Armando C. Filie,Bonnie Yates,Cindy Delbrook,Joanne Derdak,Crystal L. Mackall,Daniel W. Lee,Terry J. Fry,Alan S. Wayne,Maryalice Stetler-Stevenson,Nirali N. Shah +16 more
TL;DR: The gold standard used to evaluate response in the United States includes morphologic evaluation and minimal residual disease (MRD) testing of aspirated bone marrow by flow cytometry (FC).
Journal ArticleDOI
Clinical and Correlative Pilot Study Of Carfilzomib, Lenalidomide, and Dexamethasone Followed By Lenalidomide Extended Dosing (CRd – R) In High Risk Smoldering Multiple Myeloma Patients
Ola Landgren,Sham Mailankody,Mary Kwok,Elisabet E. Manasanch,Manisha Bhutani,Nishant Tageja,Dickran Kazandjian,Adriana Zingone,Rene Costello,Debra Burton,Yong Zhang,Peter Wu,George Carter,Marcia Mulquin,Diamond Zuchlinski,Irina Maric,Katherine R. Calvo,Raul C. Braylan,Constance M. Yuan,Maryalice Stetler-Stevenson,Diane C. Arthur,Liza Lindenberg,Karen A. Kurdziel,Peter L. Choyke,Seth M. Steinberg,Mark Roschewski,Neha Korde +26 more
TL;DR: This phase II single arm pilot study treats high risk SMM patients ≥18 years old with 8 cycles of CRd therapy with well tolerated with manageable toxicities and none have progressed to clinical symptomatic multiple myeloma.
Journal ArticleDOI
Usefulness of Dual Immunohistochemistry Staining in Detection of Hairy Cell Leukemia in Bone Marrow
Gaurav K. Gupta,Xiaoping Sun,Constance M. Yuan,Maryalice Stetler-Stevenson,Robert J. Kreitman,Irina Maric +5 more
TL;DR: Dual IHC stain is a sensitive tool in detecting HCL, even in cases with minimal disease involvement, and it is found that all IHC-positive cases concurred with flow cytometric data, even when HCL burden was extremely low in the flow cytometry specimens.
Journal ArticleDOI
Visual inspection versus quantitative flow cytometry to detect aberrant CD2 expression in malignant T cells.
Indu Arun,Jacqueline A. Wulu,John E. Janik,Gregory A. Jasper,Constance M. Yuan,David Venzon,Maryalice Stetler-Stevenson +6 more
TL;DR: CD2 expression in malignant and normal T cells was examined to determine if the level of CD2 expression differed significantly and if quantitation assisted in detecting this difference.
Journal ArticleDOI
Flow Cytometry Increases the Sensitivity of Detection of Leukemia and Lymphoma Cells in Bronchoalveolar Lavage Specimens
TL;DR: Flow cytometry is significantly more sensitive than cytomorphology in detection of hematolymphoid neoplasms (HLNs) but its utility in paucicellular bronchoalveolar lavage specimens has not been established.
