Teh,Patompong Ungprasert,Alberto Valbusa,Andreas Wahl,Tetsuro Yoshida,Carlo Gaudio,Juan Carlos Kaski +35 more
TL;DR: Patients with takotsubo syndrome have a relevant prevalence of cardiovascular risk factors and associated comorbidities and such of associations needs to be evaluated in further studies.
Journal ArticleDOI
Mitochondrial MsrB2 serves as a switch and transducer for mitophagy.
Seung Hee Lee,Suho Lee,Jing Du,Kanika Jain,Min Ding,Anis John Kadado,Gourg Atteya,Zainab Jaji,Tarun Tyagi,Won Ho Kim,Raimund I. Herzog,Amar Patel,Costin N. Ionescu,Kathleen A. Martin,John Hwa +14 more
TL;DR: It is reported that the mitochondrial matrix protein MsrB2 plays an important role in switching on mitophagy by reducing Parkin methionine oxidation (MetO), and transducingMitophagy through ubiquitination by Parkin and interacting with LC3.
Journal ArticleDOI
Long-term outcome of Tako-tsubo cardiomyopathy.
TL;DR: The long-term outcome of patients with TC is worse than previously reported and TMPG does not correlate with the outcome in TC, according to retrospective analysis of all patients diagnosed with TC at the authors' hospital between 2003 and 2008.
Journal ArticleDOI
Drug-coated balloon versus plain old balloon angioplasty in femoropopliteal disease: An updated meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials.
Mahesh Anantha-Narayanan,Samit Shah,Qurat-ul-ain Jelani,Santiago Garcia,Costin N. Ionescu,C. J. Regan,Carlos Mena-Hurtado +6 more
TL;DR: A meta‐analysis including all available randomized controlled trials to date which compare DCB to plain balloon angioplasty (POBA) in femoropopliteal disease (FPD) is performed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Age associated non-linear regulation of redox homeostasis in the anucleate platelet: Implications for CVD risk patients
Kanika Jain,Tarun Tyagi,Kanchi Patell,Yi Xie,Anis John Kadado,Seung Hee Lee,Timur O. Yarovinsky,Jing Du,Janice Hwang,Kathleen A. Martin,Jeffrey M. Testani,Costin N. Ionescu,John Hwa +12 more
TL;DR: Clinically, the results advocate the use of less aggressive antiplatelet therapies for CVD in the elderly population, and report a novel age associated, non-linear redox regulation in platelets in both humans and mice.
