Enhancement of the superconducting transition temperature of MgB2 by a strain-induced bond-stretching mode softening

TL;DR: The report of a systematic increase of the superconducting transition temperature T(c) with a biaxial tensile strain in MgB2 films to well beyond the bulk value suggests that the E(2g) phonon softening is a possible avenue to achieve even higher T( c) in M gB2-related material systems.
Journal ArticleDOI

Absence of low-temperature phase transitions in epitaxial BaTiO 3 thin films

TL;DR: In this article, the phase transitions in epitaxial thin films were studied by Raman spectroscopy and the phase diagram and domain structures were calculated for a single ferroelectric phase over the temperature range from 5 to 325 K.
Journal ArticleDOI

Raman Study of Oxygen Reduced and Re-Oxidized Strontium Titanate

TL;DR: In this article, a Raman study of oxygen reduced single crystal strontium titanate is presented, showing that oxygen reduction leads to the appearance of forbidden first-order Raman peaks, as well as spectral features attributed to the local vibrational modes associated with oxygen vacancies.
Journal ArticleDOI

Correlation between saturation magnetization, bandgap, and lattice volume of transition metal (M=Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, or Ni) doped Zn1-xMxO nanoparticles

TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of transition metal doped ZnO nanoparticles on the structural, optical, and magnetic properties of the Zn1−xMxO (M=Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, or Ni) were compared with different transition metal ions.
