Journal ArticleDOI
The intriguing ligand-dependent and ligand-independent actions of the growth hormone secretagogue receptor on reward-related behaviors.
María Paula Cornejo,Emilio Román Mustafá,Franco Barrile,Daniela Cassano,Pablo Nicolás de Francesco,Jesica Raingo,Mario Perello +6 more
TL;DR: It is concluded that GHSR is a key regulator of the mesocorticolimbic pathway that influences its activity and, consequently, modulates reward-related behaviors via ligand-dependent and ligands-independent actions.
Journal ArticleDOI
The ups and downs of growth hormone secretagogue receptor signaling
María Paula Cornejo,Emilio Román Mustafá,Daniela Cassano,Jean-Louis Banères,Jesica Raingo,Mario Perello +5 more
TL;DR: The growth hormone secretagogue receptor (GHSR) has emerged as one of the most fascinating molecules from the perspective of neuroendocrine control as mentioned in this paper, and plays key roles regulating not only growth hormone secretion but also food intake, adiposity, body weight, glucose homeostasis and other complex functions.
Journal ArticleDOI
Growth hormone secretagogue receptor in dopamine neurons controls appetitive and consummatory behaviors towards high-fat diet in ad-libitum fed mice
María Paula Cornejo,Franco Barrile,Daniela Cassano,Julieta Paola Aguggia,Guadalupe García Romero,Mirta Reynaldo,Maria Florencia Andreoli,Pablo Nicolás de Francesco,Mario Perello +8 more
TL;DR: It is concluded that GHSR expression in DA neurons is sufficient to both mediate increased anticipatory activity to a scheduled HF diet exposure and fully orchestrate binge-like HF intake, but it is insufficient to restore the acute orexigenic or locomotor effects of ghrelin treatment.
