Journal ArticleDOI
Cost-effectiveness of bariatric surgery and non-surgical weight management programmes for adults with severe obesity: a decision analysis model
Dwayne Boyers,Lise Retat,Elisabet Jacobsen,Alison Avenell,Paul Aveyard,Emily Corbould,Abbygail Jaccard,David A. Cooper,Clare Robertson,Magaly Aceves-Martins,Benshuai Xu,Zoe Skea,M. de Bruin +12 more
TL;DR: In this paper, an economic evaluation of five different Weight Management Programs (WMPs) for adults, in England with severe obesity (BMI ≥ 35 kg/m2), who are more at risk of obesity related diseases was performed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Clear lens extraction for the management of primary angle closure glaucoma: surgical technique and refractive outcomes in the EAGLE cohort.
Alexander C Day,David A. Cooper,Jennifer Burr,Paul J. Foster,David S Friedman,Gus Gazzard,Jemaima Che-Hamzah,Tin Aung,Craig R Ramsay,Augusto Azuara-Blanco +9 more
TL;DR: Mean CDVA in patients undergoing CLE for angle-closure glaucoma appeared stable over the 3-year study period and refractive error was significantly reduced with surgery but refractive predictability was suboptimal.
Journal ArticleDOI
Streptococcus pneumoniae serotype 15B polysaccharide conjugate elicits a cross-functional immune response against serotype 15C but not 15A.
Li Hao,Michelle M. Kuttel,Neil Ravenscroft,Allison Thompson,A. Krishna Prasad,Seema S Gangolli,Charles Y. Tan,David A. Cooper,Wendy J. Watson,Paul A. Liberator,Michael W. Pride,Kathrin U. Jansen,Annaliesa S. Anderson,Ingrid L. Scully +13 more
TL;DR: In this article , the authors implemented an algorithm to quickly differentiate 15B from its closely related serotypes 15C and 15A directly from whole-genome sequencing data, and molecular dynamics simulations of 15A, 15B, 15C, and 15C polysaccharides were demonstrated that while 15A and 15B assume rigid branched conformation, 15A assumes a flexible linear conformation.
Journal ArticleDOI
HIV dynamics linked to memory CD4+ T cell homeostasis
John M. Murray,John Zaunders,Sean Emery,David A. Cooper,William J. Hey-Nguyen,Kersten K. Koelsch,Anthony D. Kelleher +6 more
TL;DR: Modelling indicates that much of the dynamical behavior of HIV can be explained by its impact on memory CD4+ T cell homeostasis.
Journal ArticleDOI
Lessons from a multicentre paediatric HIV trial.
Jintanat Ananworanich,Thanyawee Puthanakit,Vonthanak Saphonn,David A. Cooper,Kiat Ruxrungtham +4 more
TL;DR: It is hypothesised that antiretrovirals could be deferred until CD4+ cell-count falls below 15% in both asymptomatic and mildly symptomatic children with moderate immune suppression, without affecting their prognosis.
