Journal ArticleDOI

Cortical motor and somatosensory representation: effect of cerebral lesions

TL;DR: Central lesions are more frequently associated with altered patterns in activation than lesions in noncentral locations, and the absence of activation in gyri adjacent to the sensorimotor strip has clinical significance for the planning of resections in the central area.
Journal ArticleDOI

Results of surgical treatment in temporal lobe epilepsy with chronic psychosis.

TL;DR: Five patients with the dual diagnoses of medically intractable temporal lobe epilepsy and chronic psychosis who underwent temporal lobe resection were described and were able to provide informed consent and were easily managed during preoperative investigation.
Journal ArticleDOI

The existence and evolution of diffusion-perfusion mismatched tissue in white and gray matter after acute stroke

TL;DR: Findings are consistent with white matter being able to mount an ischemic penumbral response in humans and being more resistant to cerebral ischemia than gray matter and raise the possibility that the therapeutic window is longer for white matter and may require alternative therapeutic strategies.
Reference BookDOI
