The Dopamine D1 Receptors

TL;DR: Dopaminergic receptors are members of a large gene family of hormone/neurotransmitter receptors that exert their biological actions via signal transduction pathways that involve guanine nucleotide-binding proteins.
Journal ArticleDOI

Pharmacology of polymorphic variants of the human 5-HT1A receptor.

TL;DR: Data suggest a previously unappreciated role for transmembrane 1 in mediating 5-HT response at the5-HT1A receptor and individuals that potentially harbor the A50V polymorphism might display aberrant affective behaviors and altered responses to drugs targeting the 5- HT1A receptors.
Journal ArticleDOI

Loss-of-function polymorphic variants of the human angiotensin II type 1 receptor.

TL;DR: Functional analysis using the cell-based assay receptor selection and amplification technology revealed that polymorphic variation in the human AT1 receptor induces loss of functional phenotypes, which may constitute the molecular basis of variability of AT1 receptors-mediated physiological responses.

Use of 4-amino-piperidines for treating sleep disorders

TL;DR: Inverse agonists and antagonists of serotonin receptors are disclosed for use in treating sleep disorders such as insomnia, and specifically sleep maintenance insomnia as mentioned in this paper, which increase slow wave sleep, decrease the number of awakenings after sleep onset, and decrease the time awake after sleeping onset.
