Journal ArticleDOI
Improving automated multiple sclerosis lesion segmentation with a cascaded 3D convolutional neural network approach.
Sergi Valverde,Mariano Cabezas,Eloy Roura,Sandra González-Villà,Deborah Pareto,Joan C. Vilanova,Lluís Ramió-Torrentà,Alex Rovira,Arnau Oliver,Xavier Lladó +9 more
TL;DR: The proposed automated WM lesion segmentation method is the best ranked approach on the MICCAI2008 challenge, outperforming the rest of 60 participant methods when using all the available input modalities, while still in the top‐rank (3rd position) when using only T1‐w and FLAIR modalities.
Journal ArticleDOI
Consensus recommendations for MS cortical lesion scoring using double inversion recovery MRI
Jeroen J. G. Geurts,Stefan D. Roosendaal,Massimiliano Calabrese,Olga Ciccarelli,Federica Agosta,Declan T. Chard,Achim Gass,E. Huerga,B. Moraal,Deborah Pareto,Maria A. Rocca,Mike P. Wattjes,Tarek A. Yousry,Bernard M. J. Uitdehaag,Frederik Barkhof +14 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that comparing available literature data on cortical lesions may be problematic, and increased consistency in acquisition protocols may improve scoring agreement.
Journal ArticleDOI
Biodistribution of amino-functionalized diamond nanoparticles. In vivo studies based on 18F radionuclide emission.
Santiago Rojas,Juan Domingo Gispert,Roberto Martín,Sergio Abad,Cristina Menchón,Deborah Pareto,Victor M. Victor,Mercedes Alvaro,Hermenegildo García,J Raúl Herance +9 more
TL;DR: After filtration of the radiolabeled diamond nanoparticles to remove those with a larger kinetic size, the uptake in the lung and spleen was completely inhibited and significantly reduced in the liver and the addition of surfactant agents did not lead to significant changes in this pattern.
Journal ArticleDOI
Imaging Brain Inflammation with [11C]PK11195 by PET and Induction of the Peripheral-Type Benzodiazepine Receptor after Transient Focal Ischemia in Rats
Santiago Rojas,Abraham Martín,Maria J. Arranz,Deborah Pareto,Jesús Purroy,Esther Verdaguer,Jordi Llop,Vanessa Gómez,Joan D. Gispert,Olga Millán,Ángel Chamorro,Anna M. Planas +11 more
TL;DR: Results show cellular heterogeneity in the level of PBR expression, supporting that PBR is not a simple marker of inflammation, and that the extent of [11C]PK11195 binding depends on intrinsic features of the inflammatory cells.
Journal ArticleDOI
MAGNIMS consensus recommendations on the use of brain and spinal cord atrophy measures in clinical practice
Jaume Sastre-Garriga,Deborah Pareto,Marco Battaglini,Maria A. Rocca,Olga Ciccarelli,Olga Ciccarelli,Christian Enzinger,Jens Wuerfel,Maria Pia Sormani,Frederik Barkhof,Frederik Barkhof,Tarek A. Yousry,Nicola De Stefano,Mar Tintoré,Massimo Filippi,Claudio Gasperini,Ludwig Kappos,Jordi Río,Jette L. Frederiksen,Jackie Palace,Hugo Vrenken,Xavier Montalban,Xavier Montalban,Alex Rovira +23 more
TL;DR: This Consensus statement critically review the application of brain and spinal cord atrophy in clinical practice in the management of MS, considering the role of atrophy measures in prognosis and treatment monitoring and the barriers to clinical use of these measures.
