Journal ArticleDOI

Identification of the Hepatitis C Virus RNA Replication Complex in Huh-7 Cells Harboring Subgenomic Replicons

TL;DR: Metabolic labeling with 5-bromouridine 5′-triphosphate in the presence of actinomycin D revealed that the membranous web is the site of viral RNA synthesis and therefore represents the replication complex of HCV.
Journal ArticleDOI

RNA Replication of Mouse Hepatitis Virus Takes Place at Double-Membrane Vesicles

TL;DR: The ultrastructural analysis revealed double-membrane vesicles (DMVs) in the cytoplasm of mouse hepatitis virus-infected cells, concluding that the DMVs carry the MHV RNA replication complex and are the site ofMHV RNA synthesis.
Journal ArticleDOI

Membrane Rearrangement and Vesicle Induction by Recombinant Poliovirus 2C and 2BC in Human Cells

TL;DR: Despite the membrane reorganization and vesicle formation induced by 2C and 2BC proteins, no enhanced synthesis of lipid was observed and this may indicate a novel property of 2C that induces a complex interaction with intracellular membranes.
Journal ArticleDOI

Association of polioviral proteins of the P2 genomic region with the viral replication complex and virus-induced membrane synthesis as visualized by electron microscopic immunocytochemistry and autoradiography.

TL;DR: Using high resolution electron microscopic autoradiography and immunocytochemistry with monoclonal antibodies against poliovirus proteins of the P2 genomic region, the location of these proteins in respect to the virus-induced vesicle formation and the viral RNA synthesis was followed during the viral replication cycle.
