The southern westerlies in central chile : holocene precipitation estimates based on a water balance model for Laguna Aculeo (33°50′S)
TL;DR: In this article, the lake level curve has been reconstructed using a multi-proxy study of lake sediments and lake level changes have been simulated using a simple water balance model, which suggests that the increase in moisture in Central Chile during the late Holocene appears to be strongly related to intensified Westerly activity and probably also to increased El Nino activity.
Journal ArticleDOI
Computational analysis of the two-dimensional three-dimensional transition in forward-facing step flow
TL;DR: In this article, a simulation of the flow over a forward-facing step in a plane channel is presented to gain better insight into the three-dimensional structure of the separation region of flows over steps and ribs.
Journal ArticleDOI

TL;DR: This work presents a two-field NMR spectrometer that permits the application of rf-pulses and acquisition of NMR signals in two magnetic centres, and demonstrates a proof-of-concept correlation between zero-quantum coherences at low magnetic field and single quantum coherence at high magnetic field.
Journal ArticleDOI
Density-driven instabilities of miscible fluids in a capillary tube: linear stability analysis
TL;DR: In this paper, a linear stability analysis is presented for the miscible interface formed by placing ah eavier fluid above a lighter one in a vertically oriented capillary tube, which is based on the three-dimensional Stokes equations coupled to a convection- diffusion equation for the concentration field.

Gas turbine blade shroud
TL;DR: In this article, a gas turbine blade shroud (4) with side rails (8) has been proposed to improve the line up of adjacent blades and decrease the probability of hot gas leakage into the cavity between blade shroud and stator.
