Journal ArticleDOI

Stents versus Coronary-Artery Bypass Grafting for Left Main Coronary Artery Disease

TL;DR: In a cohort of patients with unprotected left main coronary artery disease, there was no significant difference in rates of death or of the composite end point of death, Q-wave myocardial infarction, or stroke between patients receiving stents and those undergoing CABG, but stenting, even with drug-eluting stents, was associated with higher rates of target-vessel revascularization than was CABGs.
Journal ArticleDOI

Frequency of and risk factors for stent thrombosis after drug-eluting stent implantation during long-term follow-up.

TL;DR: Stent thrombosis occurred in 0.8% after DES implantation during long-term follow-up, similar to that for bare metal stents, and independent predictors were premature antiplatelet therapy interruption, primary stenting in acute myocardial infarction, and total stent length.
Journal ArticleDOI

Impact of Intravascular Ultrasound Guidance on Long-Term Mortality in Stenting for Unprotected Left Main Coronary Artery Stenosis

TL;DR: Elective stenting with IVUS guidance, especially in the placement of drug-eluting stent, may reduce the long-term mortality rate for unprotected left main coronary artery stenosis when compared with conventional angiography guidance.
