Dietary Flexibility and Feeding Strategies of Eulemur: A Comparison with Propithecus

TL;DR: A phylogenetic least-squares analysis on 10 populations of Eulemur and 7 of Propithecus found similar ecogeographic variation; populations of both genera with heavier body mass consumed more fruit and switched the diet from fruit to alternative food more frequently.
Journal ArticleDOI

Factors influencing terrestriality in primates of the Americas and Madagascar

Timothy M. Eppley, +117 more
TL;DR: The authors found that diurnal species already inhabiting hot, sparsely canopied sites, and exhibiting more generalized diets, are more likely to shift toward greater ground use, which is associated with increased temperature and a decrease in canopy cover, as well as species-specific traits, including a dietary shift away from fruits and larger group size.
