Journal ArticleDOI
The 2011-12 pilot European Sentinel Registry of Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation: in-hospital results in 4,571 patients.
Carlo Di Mario,Hélène Eltchaninoff,Neil Moat,Javier Goicolea,Gian Paolo Ussia,Petr Kala,Peter Wenaweser,Marian Zembala,Georg Nickenig,Eduardo Alegria Barrero,Thomas Snow,Bernard Iung,Pepe Zamorano,Gerhard Schuler,Roberto Corti,Ottavio Alfieri,Bernard D. Prendergast,Peter Ludman,Stephan Windecker,Manel Sabaté,Martine Gilard,Adam Witowski,Haim D. Danenberg,Erwin Schroeder,Francesco Romeo,Carlos Macaya,Geneviève Derumeaux,Aldo P. Maggioni,Luigi Tavazzi +28 more
TL;DR: Increased operator experience and the refinement of valve types and delivery catheters may explain the lower rate of mortality, stroke and vascular complications than in historical studies and registries.
Journal ArticleDOI
Local and general anaesthesia do not influence outcome of transfemoral aortic valve implantation.
Gianni Dall'Ara,Hélène Eltchaninoff,Neil Moat,Cécile Laroche,Javier Goicolea,Gian Paolo Ussia,Petr Kala,Peter Wenaweser,Marian Zembala,Georg Nickenig,Thomas Snow,Susanna Price,Eduardo Alegria Barrero,Rodrigo Estévez-Loureiro,Bernard Iung,José Luis Zamorano,Gerhard Schuler,Ottavio Alfieri,Bernard D. Prendergast,Peter Ludman,Stephan Windecker,Manel Sabaté,Martine Gilard,Adam Witkowski,Haim D. Danenberg,Erwin Schroeder,Francesco Romeo,Carlos Macaya,Geneviève Derumeaux,Alessio Mattesini,Luigi Tavazzi,Carlo Di Mario +31 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the Sentinel European TAVI Pilot Registry enrolled 2807 patients treated via a transfemoral approach using either local anaesthetic (LA-group, 1095 patients, 39%) or general anaesthesia (GA)-group, 1712 patients, 61%).
Journal ArticleDOI
Increase in J-CTO lesion complexity score explains the disparity between recanalisation success and evolution of chronic total occlusion strategies: insights from a single-centre 10-year experience
Dimitrios Syrseloudis,Gioel Gabrio Secco,Eduardo Alegria Barrero,Alistair C. Lindsay,Matteo Ghione,Kadriye Orta Kilickesmez,Nicolas Foin,Ramon Martos,Carlo Di Mario +8 more
TL;DR: Advanced CTO techniques and equipment have resulted in an increase in the successful treatment of highly complex lesions, and total success rate did not substantially improve, as it was counterbalanced by the increased rate at which complex lesions were attempted.
Journal ArticleDOI
Frequency domain optical coherence tomography for guidance of coronary stenting.
Nicola Viceconte,Pak-Hei Chan,Eduardo Alegria Barrero,Liviu Ghilencea,Alistair C. Lindsay,Nicolas Foin,Carlo Di Mario +6 more
TL;DR: Repeated examinations with FD-OCT can be safely used to guide stent selection and improve stent expansion and apposition and the role of Frequency domain optical coherence tomography is evaluated.
Journal ArticleDOI
Immediate results of bifurcational stenting assessed with optical coherence tomography
Nicola Viceconte,Paweł Tyczyński,Giuseppe Ferrante,Nicolas Foin,Pak-Hei Chan,Eduardo Alegria Barrero,Carlo Di Mario +6 more
TL;DR: In CBL, strut malapposition is particularly high at the SB ostium, however, a strategy of stenting MV only with adjunctive FD‐OCT guidance is associated with lower rates of malappposition.
