Journal ArticleDOI

Transmission of Equine Influenza Virus to Dogs

TL;DR: The geographic expansion of the infection and its persistence for several years indicate efficient transmission of canine influenza virus among greyhounds, and evidence of infection in pet dogs suggests that this infection may also become enzootic in this population.
Journal ArticleDOI

Segregation of Bovine Viral Diarrhea Virus into Genotypes

TL;DR: Isolates of bovine viral diarrhea virus (BVDV) were segregated into two groups based on comparison of sequences from the 5' untranslated region (UTR) of the viral genome, suggesting that these groups are as different from each other as reference BVDV are from hog cholera virus.
Book

Fenner's veterinary virology

TL;DR: Fenner's Veterinary, Virology 4e, is the long awaited new edition of Veterinary Virology, 3e, which was published in 1999, and is fully revised and updated by the new author team.
Journal ArticleDOI

Severe acute bovine viral diarrhea in Ontario, 1993-1995

TL;DR: Type 2 BVDV has been present in Ontario at least since 1981 without causing widespread outbreaks of severe acute BVD, which suggests that type 2 designation in itself does not imply enhanced virulence.
Journal ArticleDOI

Serology enabled discovery of genetically diverse hepaciviruses in a new host

TL;DR: A versatile serology-based approach is used to determine the natural host of the only known nonprimate hepacivirus (NPHV), CHV, which is also the closest phylogenetic relative of HCV, and suggest a promising new nonPRimate animal model.
