Journal ArticleDOI
Early‐onset L‐dopa‐responsive parkinsonism with pyramidal signs due to ATP13A2, PLA2G6, FBXO7 and spatacsin mutations
Coro Paisán-Ruiz,Rocio Guevara,Monica Federoff,Hasmet Hanagasi,Fardaz Sina,Elahe Elahi,Susanne A. Schneider,Petra Schwingenschuh,Nin Bajaj,Murat Emre,Andrew B. Singleton,Andrew B. Singleton,John Hardy,Kailash P. Bhatia,Sebastian Brandner,Andrew J. Lees,Henry Houlden +16 more
TL;DR: Genetic defects in the ATP13A2, PLA2G6, FBXO7, and SPG11 genes are identified, suggesting that these four genes account for many cases of Levodopa responsive parkinsonism with pyramidal signs cases formerly categorized clinically as pallido‐pyramidal syndrome.
Journal ArticleDOI
Genome-wide Linkage Analysis of a Parkinsonian-Pyramidal Syndrome Pedigree by 500 K SNP Arrays
Seyedmehdi Shojaee,Farzad Sina,Setareh Sadat Banihosseini,Mohammad Hossein Kazemi,Reza Kalhor,Gholam Ali Shahidi,Hossein Fakhrai-Rad,Mostafa Ronaghi,Elahe Elahi +8 more
TL;DR: The results suggest that linkage in the pedigree may have been missed had the chips containing less than 100,000 SNPs across the genome been used, and the possible value of interrogating SNPs at higher densities has been considered.
Journal ArticleDOI
Kavosh: a new algorithm for finding network motifs
Zahra Razaghi Moghadam Kashani,Hayedeh Ahrabian,Elahe Elahi,Abbas Nowzari-Dalini,Elnaz Saberi Ansari,Sahar Asadi,Shahin Mohammadi,Falk Schreiber,Falk Schreiber,Ali Masoudi-Nejad +9 more
TL;DR: A new algorithm, Kavosh, for finding k-size network motifs with less memory and CPU time in comparison to other existing algorithms, based on counting all k- size sub-graphs of a given graph (directed or undirected).
Journal ArticleDOI
Loss of function mutations in the gene encoding latent transforming growth factor beta binding protein 2, LTBP2, cause primary congenital glaucoma
Mehrnaz Narooie-Nejad,Seyed Hassan Paylakhi,Seyedmehdi Shojaee,Zeinab Fazlali,Mozhgan Rezaei Kanavi,Naveed Nilforushan,Naveed Nilforushan,Shahin Yazdani,Farbod Babrzadeh,Fatemeh Suri,Mostafa Ronaghi,Elahe Elahi,Coro Paisán-Ruiz +12 more
TL;DR: It is reported that LTBP2 encoding latent transforming growth factor beta binding protein 2 is a PCG causing gene, confirming results recently reported.
Journal ArticleDOI
Bioemulsifier production by a halothermophilic Bacillus strain with potential applications in microbially enhanced oil recovery
Seyed Mohammad Mehdi Dastgheib,Mohammad Ali Amoozegar,Elahe Elahi,Sedigheh Asad,Ibrahim M. Banat +4 more
TL;DR: Although ACO1 did not utilize hydrocarbons, it had a high emulsifying activity (E24 = 65 ± 5%) on different hydrophobic substrates and was optimal while growing on yeast extract as the sole carbon source and NaNO3 as the nitrogen source.
