Journal ArticleDOI
Palladium(0) nanoparticles stabilized by phosphorus dendrimers containing coordinating 15-membered triolefinic macrocycles in periphery.
Elena Badetti,Anne-Marie Caminade,Jean-Pierre Majoral,Marcial Moreno-Mañas,Rosa María Sebastián +4 more
TL;DR: A new family of phosphorus dendrimers containing on their surfaces 3, 6, 12, and 96 15-membered azamacrocycles has been synthesized and the Mizoroki-Heck reaction has been catalyzed in a homogeneous and heterogeneous manner by using four different materials.
Journal ArticleDOI
Toxicity of copper oxide and basic copper carbonate nanoparticles after short-term oral exposure in rats
Wim H. de Jong,Eveline de Rijk,Alessandro Bonetto,Wendel Wohlleben,Vicki Stone,Andrea Brunelli,Elena Badetti,Antonio Marcomini,Ilse Gosens,Flemming R. Cassee +9 more
TL;DR: The NPs showed partial dissolution in artificial simulated stomach fluids, while in intestinal conditions, the primary particles simultaneously shrank and agglomerated into large structures, which means that both copper ions and the particulate nanoforms should be considered as potential causal agents for the observed toxicity.
Journal ArticleDOI
Strategies for determining heteroaggregation attachment efficiencies of engineered nanoparticles in aquatic environments
Antonia Praetorius,Elena Badetti,Andrea Brunelli,Arnaud Clavier,Julian A. Gallego-Urrea,Andreas Gondikas,Andreas Gondikas,Martin Hassellöv,Thilo Hofmann,Aiga Mackevica,Antonio Marcomini,Willie J.G.M. Peijnenburg,Joris T.K. Quik,Marianne Seijo,Serge Stoll,Nathalie Tepe,Helene Walch,Frank von der Kammer +17 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors assess the current state of knowledge on heteroaggregation of engineered nanoparticles with suspended particulate matter (SPM) ubiquitous in natural waters and identify three possible strategies: monitoring changes in size, monitoring number or mass distribution, and studying indirect effects, such as sedimentation.
Journal ArticleDOI
The influence of acid modification on the structure of montmorillonites and surface properties of bentonites
Victoria V. Krupskaya,Victoria V. Krupskaya,Liudmila Novikova,E. Tyupina,E. Tyupina,Petr Belousov,O. V. Dorzhieva,Sergey V. Zakusin,Sergey V. Zakusin,Kseniia Kim,Frank Roessner,Elena Badetti,Andrea Brunelli,Larisa Belchinskaya +13 more
TL;DR: In this article, the effects of interlayer modification, leaching of octahedral cations, changes of the grain size distribution, specific surface area and weakening of surface basicity of bentonites were investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI
Triggering Assembly and Disassembly of a Supramolecular Cage
TL;DR: A novel disassembly method induced by strain release of the guest has been developed, and a novel supramolecular cage built from the self-assembly of tris(2-pyridylmethyl)amine zinc complexes through imine condensation chemistry is reported.
