Filopodia-based Wnt transport during vertebrate tissue patterning
Eliana Stanganello,Anja I. H. Hagemann,Benjamin Mattes,Claude Sinner,Dana Meyen,Sabrina Weber,Alexander Schug,Erez Raz,Steffen Scholpp +8 more
TL;DR: It is shown that Wnt8a is transported on actin-based filopodia to contact responding cells and activate signalling during neural plate formation in zebrafish, and evidence is provided that such a short-range transport system for Wnt has a long-range signalling function.
Journal ArticleDOI
Micropatterned superhydrophobic structures for the simultaneous culture of multiple cell types and the study of cell-cell communication.
Alexander N. Efremov,Eliana Stanganello,Alexander Welle,Steffen Scholpp,Pavel A. Levkin,Pavel A. Levkin +5 more
TL;DR: A convenient method for creating patterns of multiple (up to twenty) different cell types on one substrate and the cross-talk between two cell populations via Wnt signaling molecules propagation during co-culture in a mutual culture medium is shown.
Journal ArticleDOI
Role of cytonemes in Wnt transport.
TL;DR: Extracellular trafficking mechanisms for Wnt proteins are reviewed and the growing evidence of cytoneme-based Wnt distribution in development and stem cell biology is discussed, which has profound impact on Wnt morphogenetic field formation during tissue patterning.
Journal ArticleDOI
Preclinical Characterization and Phase I Trial Results of a Bispecific Antibody Targeting PD-L1 and 4-1BB (GEN1046) in Patients with Advanced Refractory Solid Tumors
Alexander Muik,M. Elena Garralda,Isil Altintas,Friederike Gieseke,Ravit Geva,Eytan Ben-Ami,Corinne Maurice-Dror,Emiliano Calvo,Patricia LoRusso,G. Alonso,Maria E. TL;DR: Dose escalation of the ongoing first-in-human study in heavily pretreated patients with advanced refractory solid tumors (NCT03917381), GEN1046 demonstrated pharmacodynamic immune effects in peripheral blood consistent with its mechanism of action, manageable safety, and early clinical activity.
Journal ArticleDOI
DuoBody-CD40x4-1BB induces dendritic-cell maturation and enhances T-cell activation through conditional CD40 and 4-1BB agonist activity
Alexander Muik,Homer Adams,Friederike Gieseke,Isil Altintas,Kristina Schoedel,Jordan M. Blum,Bianca Sänger,Saskia M. Burm,Eliana Stanganello,Dennis Verzijl,Vanessa M. Spires,Fulvia Vascotto,Aras Toker,Juliane Quinkhardt,Mark Fereshteh,Mustafa Diken,David P. E. Satijn,Sebastian Kreiter,Tahamtan Ahmadi,Esther C W Breij,Özlem Türeci,Kate Sasser,Ugur Sahin,Maria Jure-Kunkel +23 more
TL;DR: DuoBody-CD40×4-1BB is capable of enhancing antitumor immunity by modulating DC and T-cell functions and shows biological activity in patients with advanced solid tumors.
