Journal ArticleDOI
Patterns and severity of vincristine-induced peripheral neuropathy in children with acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
Ellen M. Lavoie Smith,Lang Li,Chien-Wei Chiang,Karin Thomas,Raymond J. Hutchinson,Elizabeth Wells,Richard H. Ho,Jodi L. Skiles,Arindom Chakraborty,Celia M. Bridges,Jamie L. Renbarger +10 more
TL;DR: In this population of newly diagnosed children with ALL, VIPN occurs more commonly than previous research suggests, persists throughout the first year of treatment, and can be severe.
Journal ArticleDOI
Consensus paper on post-operative pediatric cerebellar mutism syndrome: the Iceland Delphi results.
Thora Gudrunardottir,Angela T Morgan,Andrew L Lux,David Walker,Karin S. Walsh,Elizabeth Wells,Jeffrey H. Wisoff,Marianne Juhler,Jeremy D. Schmahmann,Robert F. Keating,Coriene E. Catsman-Berrevoets +10 more
TL;DR: A new, proposed definition of “post-operative pediatric CMS” was formed, preliminary recommendations for diagnostic and follow-up procedures were created, two working groups on a new scoring scale and risk prediction and prevention were established, and areas were identified where further information is needed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Postoperative cerebellar mutism syndrome following treatment of medulloblastoma: neuroradiographic features and origin.
Elizabeth Wells,Zarir P. Khademian,Karin S. Walsh,Gilbert Vezina,Richard Sposto,Robert F. Keating,Roger J. Packer +6 more
TL;DR: This study demonstrates that CMS is associated with postoperative damage to the cerebellum and brainstem, damage not predicted by immediate postoperative MR imaging, and with poorer associated functional outcome.
Journal ArticleDOI
Measuring vincristine-induced peripheral neuropathy in children with acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
Ellen M. Lavoie Smith,Lang Li,Raymond J. Hutchinson,Richard H. Ho,W. Bryan Burnette,Elizabeth Wells,Celia M. Bridges,Jamie L. Renbarger +7 more
TL;DR: The TNS-PV may be a useful tool for assessing vincristine toxicity in children with acute lymphoblastic leukemia and is sensitive to change over time and feasible for use in children 6 years or older.
Journal ArticleDOI

TL;DR: In this article, the authors describe the epidemiology, clinical features, course, and outcomes of acute flaccid myelitis to help to guide diagnosis, management, and rehabilitation, and further studies evaluating host and pathogen factors, including investigations into genetic, viral, and immunological features of affected patients, host-virus interactions, and investigations of targeted therapeutic approaches to improve the long-term outcomes in this population.
