Journal ArticleDOI
Novel Composite Cermet for Low-Metal-Content Oxygen Separation Membranes
Enrique Ruiz-Trejo,Paul Boldrin,Alexandra S. Lubin,Farid Tariq,Sarah Fearn,Richard J. Chater,Stuart N. Cook,Alan Atkinson,Robert I. Gruar,Christopher J. Tighe,Jawwad A. Darr,Nigel P. Brandon +11 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a dense composite of silver and Ce0.8Sm0.2O2−δ (Ag-CSO) was manufactured from ceramic nanoparticles coated by electroless deposition of silver.
Journal ArticleDOI
Metallizing porous scaffolds as an alternative fabrication method for solid oxide fuel cell anodes
TL;DR: In this paper, a combination of electroless and electrolytic techniques was used to incorporate nickel into a porous Ce09Gd01O190 scaffold, where a porous backbone was screen printed into a YSZ electrolyte using an ink that contains sacrificial pore formers Once sintered, the scaffold was coated with silver using Tollens' reaction followed by electrodeposition of nickel in a Watts bath.
Journal ArticleDOI
Electronic Transport in Single Crystals of Gd-Doped Ceria
Enrique Ruiz-Trejo,Joachim Maier +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the electronic conductivity of reduced Gddoped ceria in single-crystals by impedance spectroscopy in the near-room temperature regime (25-110°C) was determined by thermogravimetry and the integral enthalpy of re-oxidation by differential scanning calorimetry.
Journal ArticleDOI
Microstructure and electrical transport in nano-grain sized Ce0.9Gd0.1O2−δ ceramics
Enrique Ruiz-Trejo,Jaime Santoyo-Salazar,Ruben Vilchis-Morales,Adriana Benítez-Rico,Francisco Gómez-García,Carlos Flores-Morales,J.A. Chávez-Carvayar,Gustavo Tavizon +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, an enhancement of the electrical conductivity has been found in nano-grain sized Ce0.9Gd0.1O2−δ ceramics when measured in N2 ( p O 2 = 3.5×10−6 ǫ atm) in comparison with the most commonly accepted values of bulk ionic conductivity.
