Journal ArticleDOI
In Situ XPS Investigation of Transformations at Crystallographically Oriented MoS2 Interfaces
TL;DR: In situ X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy is used to investigate how the crystallography and structure of MoS2 influence chemical transformations at solid-state interfaces with various other materials, and shows that Li reacts readily with both crystallographic orientations ofMoS2 to form metallic Mo and Li2S, while Ag showed very little chemical or electronic interaction with either type of MoM2.
Journal ArticleDOI
Strain relaxation via formation of cracks in compositionally modulated two-dimensional semiconductor alloys
Hossein Taghinejad,Ali A. Eftekhar,Philip M. Campbell,Brian Beatty,Mohammad Taghinejad,Yao Zhou,Christopher J. Perini,Hesam Moradinejad,Walter Henderson,Eric Woods,Xiang Zhang,Pulickel M. Ajayan,Evan J. Reed,Eric M. Vogel,Ali Adibi +14 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors report an unprecedented biaxial strain that stems from the composition modulation of monolayer TMD alloys and inflicts fracture on the crystals.
Journal ArticleDOI
High-quality integrated microdisk resonators in the visible-to-near-infrared wavelength range on a 3C-silicon carbide-on-insulator platform
TL;DR: In this article, the first demonstration of high-quality integrated microdisk resonators (MDRs) on a 3C-silicon carbide-on-insulator (SiCOI) platform, working over a wide bandwidth from visible to near-infrared wavelengths, was reported.
Journal ArticleDOI
Spatially resolved 3D metabolomic profiling in tissues.
Shambavi Ganesh,Thomas Hu,Eric Woods,Mayar Allam,Shuangyi Cai,Walter Henderson,Ahmet F. Coskun +6 more
TL;DR: A three-dimensional spatially resolved metabolomic profiling framework (3D-SMF) is presented to map out the spatial organization of metabolic fragments and protein signatures in immune cells of human tonsils to explore relations of metabolic and cellular features.
Journal ArticleDOI
Pathologically stiff erythrocytes impede contraction of blood clots
Valerie Tutwiler,Rustem I. Litvinov,Rustem I. Litvinov,Anna D. Protopopova,Chandrasekaran Nagaswami,Carlos H. Villa,Eric Woods,Osheiza Abdulmalik,Don L. Siegel,J. Eric Russell,Vladimir R. Muzykantov,Wilbur A. Lam,David R. Myers,John W. Weisel +13 more
TL;DR: In this article, the role of erythrocyte rigidity on clot contraction and shape transformation was examined, and it was shown that stiffening erythropoietin (EPoE) resulted in impaired clot contraction, and fewer polyhedrocytes.
