Effective anti-thrombotic therapy without stenting: intravascular optical coherence tomography-based management in plaque erosion (the EROSION study)
Haibo Jia,Jiannan Dai,Jingbo Hou,Lei Xing,Lijia Ma,Huimin Liu,Maoen Xu,Yuan Yao,Sining Hu,Erika Yamamoto,Hang Lee,Shaosong Zhang,Bo Yu,Ik-Kyung Jang +13 more
TL;DR: For patients with acute coronary syndrome caused by plaque erosion, conservative treatment with anti-thrombotic therapy without stenting may be an option.
Journal ArticleDOI
Clinical Significance of Lipid-Rich Plaque Detected by Optical Coherence Tomography: A 4-Year Follow-Up Study.
Lei Xing,Takumi Higuma,Zhao Wang,Aaron D. Aguirre,Kyoichi Mizuno,Masamichi Takano,Harold L. Dauerman,Seung-Jung Park,Yangsoo Jang,Chong Jin Kim,Soo Joong Kim,So-Yeon Choi,Tomonori Itoh,Shiro Uemura,Harry C. Lowe,Darren L. Walters,Peter Barlis,Stephen M. S. Lee,Amir Lerman,Catalin Toma,Jack Wei Chieh Tan,Erika Yamamoto,Krzysztof Bryniarski,Jiannan Dai,Thomas Zanchin,Shaosong Zhang,Bo Yu,Hang Lee,James G. Fujimoto,Valentin Fuster,Ik-Kyung Jang,Ik-Kyung Jang +31 more
TL;DR: The presence of LRP in the nonculprit regions of the target vessel by OCT predicts increased risk for future NC-MACE, which is primarily driven by revascularization for recurrent ischemia.
Journal ArticleDOI
EROSION Study (Effective Anti-Thrombotic Therapy Without Stenting: Intravascular Optical Coherence Tomography–Based Management in Plaque Erosion): A 1-Year Follow-Up Report
Lei Xing,Erika Yamamoto,Tomoyo Sugiyama,Haibo Jia,Lijia Ma,Sining Hu,Chao Wang,Yingchun Zhu,Lulu Li,Maoen Xu,Huimin Liu,Krzysztof Bryniarski,Jingbo Hou,Shaosong Zhang,Hang Lee,Bo Yu,Ik-Kyung Jang +16 more
TL;DR: The EROSION study as discussed by the authors showed that anti-thrombotic therapy without stenting is effective in reducing plaque erosion in patients with intravascular optical coherence tomography-based management in plaque erosion.
Journal ArticleDOI
Healed Culprit Plaques in Patients With Acute Coronary Syndromes
Francesco Fracassi,Filippo Crea,Tomoyo Sugiyama,Erika Yamamoto,Shiro Uemura,Rocco Vergallo,I Porto,Hang Lee,James G. Fujimoto,Valentin Fuster,Ik-Kyung Jang +10 more
TL;DR: Healed plaques, a signature of prior plaque destabilization, were found at the culprit site in more than one-quarter of ACS patients, suggesting the combination of plaque vulnerability, local inflammation, and greater plaque burden in addition to systemic inflammation may outweigh the protective mechanism of plaque healing and predispose those plaques to develop occlusive thrombus.
Journal ArticleDOI
Demographics, Management, and In-Hospital Outcome of Hospitalized Acute Heart Failure Syndrome Patients in Contemporary Real Clinical Practice in Japan ― Observations From the Prospective, Multicenter Kyoto Congestive Heart Failure (KCHF) Registry ―
Hidenori Yaku,Neiko Ozasa,Takeshi Morimoto,Yasutaka Inuzuka,Yodo Tamaki,Erika Yamamoto,Yusuke Yoshikawa,Takeshi Kitai,Ryoji Taniguchi,Moritake Iguchi,Masashi Kato,Mamoru Takahashi,Toshikazu Jinnai,Tomoyuki Ikeda,Kazuya Nagao,Takafumi Kawai,Akihiro Komasa,Ryusuke Nishikawa,Yuichi Kawase,Takashi Morinaga,Kanae Su,Mitsunori Kawato,Kenichi Sasaki,Mamoru Toyofuku,Yutaka Furukawa,Yoshihisa Nakagawa,Kenji Ando,Kazushige Kadota,Satoshi Shizuta,Koh Ono,Yukihito Sato,Koichiro Kuwahara,Takao Kato,Takeshi Kimura,Kchf Study Investigators +34 more
TL;DR: This registry elucidated the clinical features and clinically relevant in-hospital outcomes in contemporary consecutive patients with acute decompensated heart failure in real-world clinical practice in Japan.
