A Theoretical Study of the X‐Ray Photoelectron Ionization Energies of Related Carbonyl Compounds: Formaldehyde, Acetaldehyde, and Acetone.
A. R. Rossi,Ernest R. Davidson +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, the ΔSCF method was used to capture electron correlation effects and the calculated C 1s and O 1s ionization energies including electron correlation were within ∼0.5 eV of the experimental values.
Journal ArticleDOI
Calculations of zero-field splittings in pyridine derivatives
TL;DR: In this paper, the experimental decrease of the zfs parameter D upon addition of substituents on the benzene and pyridine rings and upon protonation of pryidine was reproduced theoretically without invoking either aplanarity or nπ* interaction.
Journal ArticleDOI
Some aspects of the triplet di-π-methane rearrangement: comparison of the ring opening of cyclopropyldicarbinyl and cyclopropylcarbinyl
Journal ArticleDOI
Theoretical Investigation of Several Low‐Lying States of trans,trans‐1,3,5‐Hexatriene
Journal ArticleDOI
The Cope Rearrangement in Theoretical Retrospect
TL;DR: In this article, a critical review highlights the complexity of the computational study of the Cope rearrangement of 1,5-hexadiene and its derivatives, and it is demonstrated that a realistic potential energy surface in the transition region can be obtained only at very high levels of approximation.
