Journal ArticleDOI

Spacer oligonucleotide typing of Mycobacterium bovis strains from cattle and other animals: a tool for studying epidemiology of tuberculosis.

TL;DR: By spoligotyping, isolates from the Spanish wild boar and deer had the same pattern as some bovine isolates, suggesting transmission between these animals and cattle and highlighting the importance of the study of these reservoirs.
Journal ArticleDOI

EMA and EFSA Joint Scientific Opinion on measures to reduce the need to use antimicrobial agents in animal husbandry in the European Union, and the resulting impacts on food safety (RONAFA)

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present a review of measures taken in the EU to reduce the need for and use of antimicrobials in food-producing animals, and the resultant impacts on antimicrobial resistance (AMR).
Journal ArticleDOI

bla(CTX-M) genes in clinical Salmonella isolates recovered from humans in England and Wales from 1992 to 2003.

TL;DR: Plasmid restriction analysis showed that both horizontal transfer of similar plasmid among different clones and transfer of genes between different plasmids were likely mechanisms involved in the spread of blaCTX-M genes.
