TL;DR: The ITER central solenoid (CS) model coil and CS insert coil were developed and fabricated through an international collaboration, and their cooldown and charging tests were successfully carried out by international test and operation teams as mentioned in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI
Test Results of Two European ITER TF Conductor Samples in SULTAN
Pierluigi Bruzzone,M. Bagnasco,Marco Calvi,Francesca Cau,Daniel Ciazynski,A. della Corte,A. Di Zenobio,Luigi Muzzi,Arend Nijhuis,Ettore Salpietro,L. Savoldi Richard,Simonetta Turtu,A. Vostner,Rainer Wesche,Roberto Zanino +14 more
TL;DR: In this article, four conductor lengths were prepared according to the ITER TF conductor design and assembled into two SULTAN samples, with variations of the strand supplier, void fraction and twist pitch.
Journal ArticleDOI
Results of a New Generation of ITER TF Conductor Samples in SULTAN
Pierluigi Bruzzone,Boris Stepanov,Rainer Wesche,Ettore Salpietro,A. Vostner,Kiyoshi Okuno,Takaaki Isono,Y. Takahashi,Hyoung Chan Kim,Keeman Kim,A. K. Shikov,V. Sytnikov +11 more
TL;DR: A new generation of ITER TF conductor samples has been assembled and tested in SULTAN in 2007 following a common procedure agreed among the ITER parties as discussed by the authors, and the test results of six different conductor sections made of twelve conductor sections manufactured in Europe, Japan, Korea and Russia are reported here.
Journal ArticleDOI
Test Results of Two ITER TF Conductor Short Samples Using High Current Density Nb $_{3}$ Sn Strands
Pierluigi Bruzzone,M. Bagnasco,Daniel Ciazynski,A. della Corte,A. Di Zenobio,R. Herzog,Yu.A. Ilyin,B. Lacroix,Luigi Muzzi,Arend Nijhuis,B. Renard,Ettore Salpietro,L.S. Richard,Boris Stepanov,Simonetta Turtu,A. Vostner,Rainer Wesche,L. Zani,Roberto Zanino +18 more
TL;DR: In this paper, two short length samples have been prepared and tested in SULTAN to benchmark the performance of high current density, advanced Nb3Sn strands in the large cable-in-conduit conductors (CICC) for ITER.
