Journal ArticleDOI
Imparting functionality to biocatalysts via embedding enzymes into nanoporous materials by a de novo approach: size-selective sheltering of catalase in metal-organic framework microcrystals.
Fa Kuen Shieh,Shao Chun Wang,Chia I. Yen,Chang Cheng Wu,Saikat Dutta,Lien-Yang Chou,Joseph V. Morabito,Pan Hu,Ming Hua Hsu,Kevin C.-W. Wu,Chia-Kuang Tsung +10 more
TL;DR: Because catalase is immobilized and sheltered by the ZIF-90 crystals, the composites show activity in hydrogen peroxide degradation even in the presence of protease proteinase K.
Journal ArticleDOI
Templated Synthesis for Nanoarchitectured Porous Materials
Victor Malgras,Qingmin Ji,Yuichiro Kamachi,Taizo Mori,Taizo Mori,Fa Kuen Shieh,Kevin C.-W. Wu,Katsuhiko Ariga,Yusuke Yamauchi +8 more
TL;DR: In this review, the general principles of templated synthesis using various types of templer techniques to produce nanoporous materials are summarized.
Journal ArticleDOI
Metal-organic framework (MOF)-derived catalysts for fine chemical production
Hannelore Konnerth,Babasaheb M. Matsagar,Season S. Chen,Season S. Chen,Martin H. G. Prechtl,Fa Kuen Shieh,Kevin C.-W. Wu +6 more
TL;DR: An overview of contributions in the progress of the applications of MOF-derived materials in the field of fine chemicals and selected key intermediates, are presented and discussed in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI
Shielding against Unfolding by Embedding Enzymes in Metal–Organic Frameworks via a de Novo Approach
Fu Siang Liao,Wei Shang Lo,Yu Shen Hsu,Chang Cheng Wu,Shao Chun Wang,Fa Kuen Shieh,Joseph V. Morabito,Lien-Yang Chou,Kevin C.-W. Wu,Chia-Kuang Tsung +9 more
TL;DR: In this article, an enzyme maintains its biological function under a wider range of conditions after being embedded in metal-organic framework (MOF) microcrystals via a de novo approach.
Journal ArticleDOI
Water-Based Synthesis of Zeolitic Imidazolate Framework-90 (ZIF-90) with a Controllable Particle Size
TL;DR: The ZIF code: ZIF-90 materials were successfully synthesized in an optimized water-based system and could be controlled by different amounts of polyvinylpyrrolidone, Zn/imidazole-2-carboxaldehyde ratio and alcohol.
