Journal ArticleDOI
Inhibitory effect of the somatostatin analog octreotide on rat pituitary tumor cell (GH3) proliferation in vitro
Giuliana Pelicci,M. C. Pagliacci,Luisa Lanfrancone,Pier Giuseppe Pelicci,Fausto Grignani,Ildo Nicoletti +5 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that SS-analogs transiently inhibit pituitary tumor cell proliferation in vitro and is associated with a dose- and time-related reduction in both c-myc and c-fos mRNA levels.
Journal ArticleDOI
Expression and role of PML gene in normal adult hematopoiesis: functional interaction between PML and Rb proteins in erythropoiesis
Catherine Labbaye,Mauro Valtieri,Fausto Grignani,Rossella Puglisi,L. Luchetti,B. Masella,Myriam Alcalay,Ugo Testa,Cesare Peschle,Cesare Peschle +9 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that PML is required for early hematopoiesis and erythroid, but not granulocytic maturation, and the latter phenomenon may be related to the molecular and functional interaction of PML with pRb 105.
Journal ArticleDOI
The Role of Interferon in the Treatment of Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia: Results and Prospects
Enrica Morra,Mario Lazzarino,Giuliana Alimena,Anna Marina Liberati,Fausto Grignani,Franco Mandelli,Carlo Bernasconi +6 more
TL;DR: It seems likely that the bcr rearrangement plays an important role in the pathogenesis of CML, and is likely to be a protein with increased tyrosine-kinase activity.
Journal ArticleDOI
Expression pattern of c-fes oncogene mRNA in human myeloid cells.
Luisa Lanfrancone,Patrice Mannoni,Marie Josef Pebusque,Alessandra Carè,Cesare Peschle,Fausto Grignani,Pier Giuseppe Pelicci +6 more
TL;DR: Analysis of c-fes mRNA levels in human myeloid populations found that they were phenotypically and functionally different, which indicates that the process of in vitro myeloids differentiation and the responsiveness of myelid immature cells to GM-CSF are different.
Journal ArticleDOI
PML is required for telomere stability in non-neoplastic human cells
Matteo Marchesini,R. Matocci,L. Tasselli,L. Tasselli,L. Tasselli,Valeria Cambiaghi,Annette Orleth,Laura Furia,Cristiano Marinelli,Cristiano Marinelli,S. Lombardi,Gabriella Sammarelli,Franco Aversa,Saverio Minucci,Saverio Minucci,Mario Faretta,Pier Giuseppe Pelicci,Pier Giuseppe Pelicci,Fausto Grignani +18 more
TL;DR: It is shown that in normal human fibroblasts the PML protein associates with few telomeres, preferentially when they are damaged, which implies that a diminished PML function may contribute to cell senescence, genomic instability, and tumorigenesis.
