Journal ArticleDOI
Robust SARS-CoV-2-specific T cell immunity is maintained at 6 months following primary infection.
Jianmin Zuo,Alexander C Dowell,Hayden Pearce,Kriti Verma,Heather M. Long,Jusnara Begum,Felicity Aiano,Zahin Amin-Chowdhury,Bassam Hallis,Lorrain Stapley,Ray Borrow,Ezra Linley,Shazaad Ahmad,Ben Parker,Alex Horsley,Gayatri Amirthalingam,Kevin E. Brown,Mary Ramsay,Shamez N Ladhani,Paul Moss +19 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors analyzed the magnitude and phenotype of the SARS-CoV-2-specific T cell response in 100 donors at 6 months following infection and found that the severity of primary infection establishes a'set point' for cellular immunity.

Robust SARS-CoV-2-specific T-cell immunity is maintained at 6 months following primary infection
Jianmin Zuo,Alexander C Dowell,Hayden Pearce,Kriti Verma,Heather M. Long,Jusnara Begum,Felicity Aiano,Zahin Amin-Chowdhury,Bassam Hallis,Lorrain Stapley,Ray Borrow,Ezra Linley,Shazaad Ahmad,Ben Parker,Ben Parker,Alex Horsley,Gayatri Amirthalingam,Kevin E. Brown,Mary Ramsay,Shamez N Ladhani,Paul Moss +20 more
TL;DR: The data are reassuring that functional SARS-CoV-2-specific T-cell responses are retained at six months following infection although the magnitude of this response is related to the clinical features of primary infection.
Journal ArticleDOI
COVID-19 in Children: Analysis of the First Pandemic Peak in England
Shamez N Ladhani,Zahin Amin-Chowdhury,Hannah G Davies,Felicity Aiano,Iain Hayden,Joanne Lacy,Mary Sinnathamby,Simon de Lusignan,Alicia Demirjian,Heather Whittaker,Nick Andrews,Maria Zambon,Susan Hopkins,Mary Ramsay,Mary Ramsay +14 more
TL;DR: Children accounted for a very small proportion of confirmed cases despite the large numbers of children tested and provided further evidence against the role of children in infection and transmission of SARS-CoV-2.
Journal ArticleDOI
Impact of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) Pandemic on Invasive Pneumococcal Disease and Risk of Pneumococcal Coinfection With Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2): Prospective National Cohort Study, England.
Zahin Amin-Chowdhury,Felicity Aiano,Anna Mensah,Carmen L. Sheppard,David Litt,Norman K. Fry,Nick Andrews,Mary Ramsay,Mary Ramsay,Shamez N Ladhani,Shamez N Ladhani +10 more
TL;DR: Large declines in IPD were observed following COVID-19 lockdown in England with large reductions observed across all age-groups during March-June 2020, and the rarity, age distribution and serotype distribution of IPD/SARS-CoV-2 coinfections does not support wider extension of pneumococcal vaccination.
Journal ArticleDOI
Investigation of SARS-CoV-2 outbreaks in six care homes in London, April 2020.
Shamez N Ladhani,Shamez N Ladhani,J. Yimmy Chow,Roshni Janarthanan,Jonathan Fok,Emma Crawley-Boevey,Amoolya Vusirikala,Elena Fernandez,Marina Sanchez Perez,Suzanne Tang,Kate Dun-Campbell,Edward Wynne Evans,Anita Bell,Bharat Patel,Zahin Amin-Chowdhury,Felicity Aiano,Karthik Paranthaman,Thomas Ma,Maria Saavedra-Campos,Richard M. Myers,Joanna Ellis,Angie Lackenby,Robin Gopal,Monika Patel,Colin S Brown,Meera Chand,Kevin E. Brown,Mary Ramsay,Susan Hopkins,Nandini Shetty,Maria Zambon +30 more
TL;DR: A high prevalence of SARS-CoV-2 positivity was found in care homes residents and staff, half of whom were asymptomatic and potential reservoirs for on-going transmission.
