Journal ArticleDOI

Nonresonant ionization of oxygen molecules by femtosecond pulses: Plasma dynamics studied by time-resolved terahertz spectroscopy

TL;DR: It is shown that optical pump-terahertz probe spectroscopy is a direct experimental tool for exploring laser-induced ionization and plasma formation in gases and successfully captures the observations for a wide range of pump intensities.
Journal ArticleDOI

Microwave and infrared dielectric response of monoclinic bismuth zinc niobate based pyrochlore ceramics with ion substitution in A site

TL;DR: In this article, the authors studied the impact of ion substitution in the A site of monoclinic Bi2Zn2∕3Nb4 ∕3O7 on the structure and microwave dielectric properties, and the best microwave properties were obtained in (Bi1.92Ca0.08)(Zn0.64Nb1.36)O7 with e=76, Qf⩾5000 (sintered below 950°C).
Journal ArticleDOI

Independent determination of the complex refractive index and wave impedance by time-domain terahertz spectroscopy

TL;DR: In this article, a method for simultaneous determination of the refractive index and wave impedance of bulk samples is presented, or equivalently of the dielectric permittivity and magnetic permeability.
Journal ArticleDOI

Active optical control of the terahertz reflectivity of high-resistivity semiconductors.

TL;DR: Researchers study theoretically and demonstrate experimentally light-controllable terahertz reflectivity of high-resistivity semiconductor wafers and show that the element can be tuned between antireflective and highly reflective limits by means of the intensity and wavelength of the optical illumination.
Journal ArticleDOI

Terahertz surface impedance of epitaxial MgB2 thin film

TL;DR: In this paper, the surface impedance measurement of an epitaxial MgB2 thin film using time domain terahertz spectroscopy has been performed, and the authors show that the surface resistance of the thin film is much lower than that of YBa2Cu3O7−δ and copper in the THz range.
