Mechanisms of Chromosome Congression during Mitosis

TL;DR: An integrated model of chromosome congression in mammalian cells is proposed that depends essentially on the following parameters: (1) chromosome position relative to the spindle poles after nuclear envelope breakdown; (2) establishment of stable end-on kinetochore-microtubule attachments and bi-orientation; (3) coordination between kinetchore- and arm-associated motors; and (4) spatial signatures associated with post-translational modifications of specific spindle microtubule populations.
Journal ArticleDOI

An Intelligent Smart Plug with Shared Knowledge Capabilities

Luis Gomes, +2 more
- 15 Nov 2018 -
TL;DR: The EnAPlug is proposed, a new environmental awareness smart plug with knowledge capabilities concerning the context of where and how users utilize a controllable resource.
Journal ArticleDOI

Network infrastructure extension using 802.1D-based wireless mesh networks

TL;DR: Overhead analysis and experimental results show both the higher efficiency of the solution compared to the IEEE 802.11s draft standard and its good performance as far as data throughput, delay and packet loss are concerned.
Journal ArticleDOI

The ABC130 barrel module prototyping programme for the ATLAS strip tracker

L. Poley, +249 more
TL;DR: For the Phase-II upgrade of the ATLAS Detector, its Inner Detector consisting of silicon pixel, silicon strip and transition radiation sub-detectors was replaced with an all new 100% sili...
