Journal ArticleDOI

Human bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells can express insulin and key transcription factors of the endocrine pancreas developmental pathway upon genetic and/or microenvironmental manipulation in vitro

TL;DR: The results demonstrated that in vitro human bone marrow stem cells are able to differentiate into insulin‐expressing cells by a mechanism involving several transcription factors of the beta‐cell developmental pathway when cultured in an appropriate microenvironment.
Journal ArticleDOI

MitoCeption as a new tool to assess the effects of mesenchymal stem/stromal cell mitochondria on cancer cell metabolism and function

TL;DR: The transfer of minute amounts of mesenchymal stem/stromal cell (MSC) mitochondria to cancer cells, a process otherwise occurring naturally in coculture, results in cancer cell enhanced oxidative phosphorylation (OXPHOS) activity and favors cancer cell proliferation and invasion.
Journal ArticleDOI

Dual IHC and FISH Testing for ALK Gene Rearrangement in Lung Adenocarcinomas in a Routine Practice: A French Study

TL;DR: In this article, the authors evaluated IHC as a prescreening tool for adenocarcinomas and found that IHC can lead to intense cytoplasmic staining in 6.5% of the cases screened.
