Journal ArticleDOI

Tumor regression and autoimmunity after reversal of a functionally tolerant state of self-reactive CD8+ T cells

TL;DR: It is found that tumor growth and lethality were unchanged in mice even after adoptive transfer of large numbers of T cells specific for an MHC class I–restricted epitope of the self/tumor antigen gp100, illustrating that adoptive transferof T cells and IL-2 can augment the function of a cancer vaccine.
Journal ArticleDOI

Autoimmune destruction of skin melanocytes by perilesional T cells from vitiligo patients.

TL;DR: Perilesional cytotoxic T cells eradicate pigment cells, the characteristic hallmark of vitiligo, thereby providing evidence of T cells being able to mediate targeted autoimmune tissue destruction.
Journal ArticleDOI

STAT5 regulates the self-renewal capacity and differentiation of human memory B cells and controls Bcl-6 expression.

TL;DR: Using RNA interference and ectopic expression of constitutively activated forms of STAT5, it is demonstrated here a function for STAT5 in the self-renewal of B cells in vitro and data indicate that activation ofSTAT5 is involved in regulation of memory B cell differentiation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Expression of pT∝ mRNA in a Committed Dendritic Cell Precursor in the Human Thymus

TL;DR: The thymicpre-DC are very similar to the recently characterized pre-DC found in the T cell areas of the tonsil, and it is suggested that these pre- DC populations are of lymphoid origin.
