Hesp,Kees Veldman,Alex Bossers,Magdalena Zajac,Dariusz Wasyl,Pim Sanders,B. Gonzales-Zorn,Michael S.M. Brouwer,Jaap A. Wagenaar,Dick Heederik,Dik Mevius,Frank Møller Aarestrup +18 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors examined the evolution of AMR in E. coli genomes including an association with virulence genes, plasmids and mobile genetic elements (MGEs).
Design of a system for monitoring antimicrobial resistance in pathogenic, zoonotic and indicator bacteria from food animals.
Flemming Bager,Frank Møller Aarestrup,Niels Jensen,Mogens Madsen,A. Meyling,Henrik Caspar Wegener +5 more
TL;DR: DANMAP is a Danish programme for integrated monitoring of and research on antimicrobial resistance in bacteria from food animals, food and humans, as well as the procedures for data handling and presentation of results.
Journal ArticleDOI
Proficiency of WHO Global Foodborne Infections Network External Quality Assurance System Participants in Identification and Susceptibility Testing of Thermotolerant Campylobacter spp. from 2003 to 2012.
Susanne Karlsmose Pedersen,Jaap A. Wagenaar,Håkan Vigre,Louise Roer,Matthew Mikoleit,Awa Aidara-Kane,Amy Cawthorne,Frank Møller Aarestrup,Rene S. Hendriksen +8 more
TL;DR: Assessment of performance for identification and susceptibility testing of thermotolerant Campylobacter spp.
Journal ArticleDOI
Host Resistance, Genomics and Population Dynamics in a Salmonella Enteritidis and Phage System.
Angela V Holguín,Pablo Andrés Cárdenas,Catalina Prada-Peñaranda,Laura Rabelo Leite,Camila Buitrago,Viviana Clavijo,Guilherme Oliveira,Pimlapas Leekitcharoenphon,Frank Møller Aarestrup,Martha J. Vives +9 more
TL;DR: A mathematical model exploring population and resistance dynamics of Salmonella under different conditions is created, suggesting a nonlethal, growth-inhibiting antibiotic may decrease resistance to phage-therapy cocktails.
Journal ArticleDOI
Evaluation of ceftiofur and cefquinome for phenotypic detection of methicillin resistance in Staphylococcus aureus using disk diffusion testing and MIC-determinations
TL;DR: This work compared the usefulness of ceftiofur and cefquinome to cefoxitin, for detection of MRSA and found that these cephalosporins are not as efficient as cefxitin.
