Journal ArticleDOI
Etiology of Different Developmental Trajectories of Callous-Unemotional Traits.
TL;DR: The authors investigated the longitudinal development of callous-unemotional traits in middle childhood using developmental trajectory analyses in a large twin dataset and examined the degree to which genetic and environmental influences contributed to the CU trajectory-group membership in children.
Journal ArticleDOI
Separation of cognitive impairments in attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder into 2 familial factors.
Jonna Kuntsi,Alexis C. Wood,Alexis C. Wood,Fruehling V. Rijsdijk,Katherine A Johnson,Katherine A Johnson,Penelope Andreou,B. Albrecht,Alejandro Arias-Vasquez,Jan K. Buitelaar,Gráinne McLoughlin,Nanda Rommelse,Joseph A. Sergeant,Edmund J.S. Sonuga-Barke,Edmund J.S. Sonuga-Barke,Henrik Uebel,Jaap van der Meere,Tobias Banaschewski,Michael Gill,Iris Manor,Ana Miranda,Fernando Mulas,Robert D. Oades,Herbert Roeyers,Aribert Rothenberger,Hans-Christoph Steinhausen,Hans-Christoph Steinhausen,Hans-Christoph Steinhausen,Stephen V. Faraone,Philip Asherson +29 more
TL;DR: The findings suggest the existence of 2 familial pathways to cognitive impairments in ADHD and indicate promising cognitive targets for future molecular genetic investigations.
Journal ArticleDOI
GENESiS: creating a composite index of the vulnerability to anxiety and depression in a community-based sample of siblings
PC Sham,A. Sterne,Shaun Purcell,Stacey S. Cherny,M. Webster,Fruehling V. Rijsdijk,Philip Asherson,David Ball,Ian W. Craig,Thalia C. Eley,David Goldberg,Jeffrey A. Gray,Anthony Mann,Michael John Owen,Robert Plomin +14 more
TL;DR: The GENESiS (Genetic Environmental-Nature of Emotional States in Siblings) study as discussed by the authors used a multivariate approach to detect genetic loci that contribute to individual differences in this vulnerability dimension.
Journal ArticleDOI
Is overactivity a core feature in ADHD? Familial and receiver operating characteristic curve analysis of mechanically assessed activity level.
TL;DR: The actigraph data support the DSM-IV conceptualization of including overactivity as one of the core features within ADHD combined subtype, and may be suitable candidates for future molecular genetic studies seeking to identify polymorphisms associated with the risk for ADHD.
Journal ArticleDOI
Rejection sensitivity relates to hypocortisolism and depressed mood state in young women
Mattie Tops,Mattie Tops,Harriëtte Riese,Albertine J. Oldehinkel,Fruehling V. Rijsdijk,Johan Ormel +5 more
TL;DR: It is proposed that dispositional FNSE is associated with a history of frequent high cortisol responses, leading to long-term protective inhibition of further cortisol and energy mobilization, and has special relevance for mental health problems that have high prevalence among young women.
