Isobaric analog states as a tool for spectroscopy of exotic nuclei
Grigory Rogachev,Ani Aprahamian,Fredrick D. Becchetti,P. Boutachkov,Yanmei Chen,G. G. Chubarian,Paul DeYoung,A. S. Fomichev,V. Z. Goldberg,M. S. Golovkov,J. J. Kolata,Yu. Ts. Oganessian,Graham F. Peaslee,M. Quinn,A. M. Rodin,B. B. Skorodumov,R. S. Slepnev,G. M. Ter-Akopian,Wladyslaw Henryk Trzaska,A. Wöhr,R. Wolski +20 more
TL;DR: In this paper, several different experimental techniques, which can be applied to search for IAS of exotic isotopes, are described and the implication of these findings to the structure of 7,9 He is considered.
Proceedings ArticleDOI
Production of Neutron-Rich Isotopes in the Calcium Region
Oleg B. Tarasov,David J. Morrissey,A. M. Amthor,L. Bandura,T. Baumann,D. Bazin,J. S. Berryman,G. G. Chubarian,N. Fukuda,A. Gade,T. N. Ginter,M. Hausmann,Naohito Inabe,T. Kubo,Jorge Pereira,M. Portillo,B. M. Sherrill,Andreas Stolz,Chandana Sumithrarachchi,M. Thoennessen,D. Weisshaar +20 more
TL;DR: In this article, the production cross sections for neutron-rich nuclei from the fragmentation of a 82 Se beam at 139 MeV/u were measured and the longitudinal momentum distributions of 122 neutronrich isotopes of elements 11 ≤ Z ≤ 32 were determined by varying the target thickness.
Journal ArticleDOI
Neutron-rich rare isotope production in the Fermi energy domain
TL;DR: In this paper, a large enhancement in the production of neutron-rich rare isotopes around the Fermi energy has been observed in the reactions of a 25 MeV/nucleon 86 Kr beam with the neutron rich 64 Ni and 124 Sn targets relative to the predictions of the EPAX parametrization of high-energy fragmentation, as well as relative to a reaction with the less neutron rich 112 Sn target.
Journal ArticleDOI
Isobaric analog states of neutron-rich nuclei. Doppler shift as a measurement tool for resonance excitation functions
P. Boutachkov,Grigory Rogachev,V. Z. Goldberg,Ani Aprahamian,Fredrick D. Becchetti,J. P. Bychowski,Yanmei Chen,G. G. Chubarian,Paul DeYoung,J. J. Kolata,Larry Lamm,Graham F. Peaslee,M. Quinn,B. B. Skorodumov,A. Wöhr +14 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a new approach for the measurement of resonance excitation functions of neutron-rich nuclei using Doppler shift information is presented, and preliminary data from the first application of the method is presented in the spectroscopy studies of 7He isobaric analog states in 7Li.
Journal ArticleDOI
Resonance Scattering to Study Exotic Nuclei at the Limits of Stability
V. Z. Goldberg,Brian Roeder,Grigory Rogachev,G. G. Chubarian,E. D. Johnson,Changbo Fu,A. A. Alharbi,Melina Avila,A. Banu,M. McCleskey,J. P. Mitchell,E. Simmons,G. Tabacaru,L. Trache,R. E. Tribble +14 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors report on the study of 14F, a new nuclide, and the idea of an experiment to solve the structure mystery of nuclei in the region around 9He.
