Journal ArticleDOI
Upper Excited State Photophysics of Malachite Green in Solution and Films.
TL;DR: Findings indicate that malachite green films may become promising non-Kasha materials (with reasonable S2 emission) with numerous photophysical and photochemical applications.
Journal ArticleDOI
Synthesis of 5-Azatetracene and Comparison of Its Optical and Electrochemical Properties with Tetracene
Animesh Ghosh,Maja Budanovic,Tianjiao Li,Caihong Liang,Maciej Klein,Cesare Soci,Richard D. Webster,Gagik G. Gurzadyan,Andrew C. Grimsdale +8 more
Journal ArticleDOI
N^N Pt(II) Bisacetylide Complexes with Oxoverdazyl Radical Ligands: Preparation, Photophysical Properties, and Magnetic Exchange Interaction between the Two Radical Ligands.
Wenbo Yang,Andrei A. Sukhanov,Jong Hyeon Lim,Xiaoxin Li,Yin-Shan Meng,Jianzhang Zhao,Hao-Ling Sun,Jin Yong Lee,Gagik G. Gurzadyan,Violeta K. Voronkova +9 more
TL;DR: The transient absorption spectral studies show that the doublet excited state of the radicals are short-lived and nonfluorescent, and are useful for the study of the effect of a radical on the photophysical properties of the phosphorescent transition-metal complexes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Are enzymatically produced single-strand breaks involved in UV-induced inactivation of plasmid DNA?
TL;DR: The quantum yield of inactivation is 10-20 times smaller for transformation of AB 1157 than for AB2480, indicating that enzymatic repair of photolesions of the plasmid occurs in AB1157.
Journal ArticleDOI
Switching Pathways of Triplet State Formation by Twisted Intramolecular Charge Transfer.
Yichen Zhou,Lin Ma,Andrey V. Lunchev,Saran Long,Tong Wu,Wenjun Ni,Andrew C. Grimsdale,Licheng Sun,Licheng Sun,Gagik G. Gurzadyan +9 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a pyrido[3,2-g]quinoline derivative named LA17b has been synthesized, and its photodynamic relaxation processes in solvents and films were studied by time-resolved fluorescence and femtosecond transient absorption techniques.
