Resources and geology of coalbed methane in China: a review

TL;DR: In 2015, China produced 17.1 billion cubic meters (BCM) of methane sourced from coal seams in 2015, of which 4.43 BCM is from wells drilled from the surface.
Journal ArticleDOI

Optimization of pipeline transport for CO2 sequestration

TL;DR: In this article, the authors examined the impacts of supercritical fluid and subcooled liquid transport on energy efficiency and cost of CO2 transport in a commercial process simulator, ASPEN PLUS 10.1.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effects of structural deformation on formation of coalbed methane reservoirs in Huaibei coalfield, China

TL;DR: In this paper, the occurrence of coal seams in Huaibei coalfield is investigated by combining systematic analyses on the occurrence and formation of coalbed methane reservoirs, and it is shown that coal seams are distributed in north-south tectonic blocks and east-west tectonics zones.
Journal ArticleDOI

Sorption-induced swelling/shrinkage and permeability of coal under stressed adsorption/desorption conditions

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present experimental investigations on CO 2 /CH 4 binary gas flow in bulk coal under controllable stress conditions, focusing on sorption-induced swelling/shrinkage and gas permeability associated with CO 2 -sequestration enhanced coalbed methane (CO 2 -ECBM) recovery.
Journal ArticleDOI

Evaluation of coal structure and permeability with the aid of geophysical logging technology

TL;DR: In this article, a combined investigation of geophysical logging data and well tests from coal reservoirs of Huainan and Huaibei coalfields in China was studied by a combined study of coal structures and the associated coal permeability, where a large amount of the site observations on coal sections of mining faces and macroscopic investigations on textures of drilling coal cores were carried out, providing experimental information for classification of coal structure.
