Journal ArticleDOI
Evaluation of coal structure and permeability with the aid of geophysical logging technology
TL;DR: In this article, a combined investigation of geophysical logging data and well tests from coal reservoirs of Huainan and Huaibei coalfields in China was studied by a combined study of coal structures and the associated coal permeability, where a large amount of the site observations on coal sections of mining faces and macroscopic investigations on textures of drilling coal cores were carried out, providing experimental information for classification of coal structure.
Journal ArticleDOI
Relative permeabilities of gas and water for different rank coals
Jian Shen,Jian Shen,Yong Qin,Yong Qin,Geoff Wang,Xuehai Fu,Xuehai Fu,Chongtao Wei,Chongtao Wei,Bo Lei,Bo Lei +10 more
TL;DR: In this article, the relative permeability of gas and water in different rank coals selected from south Qinshui Basin have been investigated under various gas/water saturations through water replacement with methane using an unsteady-state method.
Journal ArticleDOI
Experimental study on gas diffusion dynamics in fractured coal: A better understanding of gas migration in in-situ coal seam
TL;DR: In this article, the effect of coal size on gas diffusion dynamics with powder coal and lump coal under unconstrained conditions was investigated, and the results showed that there exists an obvious scale effect for gas diffusion in coal, and a critical value has been found for the scale effect.
Journal ArticleDOI
Simulation study on evolution of coalbed methane reservoir in Qinshui Basin, China
TL;DR: In this article, a dynamic equilibrium model has been proposed to describe the coalbed methane concentration-dissipation evolution process in coal including its generation, storage and migration, which has been applied to the Qinshui basin, China, which allows to evaluate features of coal seam of the basin including coal quality and burial, palaeo-geothermal field and coal organic material maturation evolution history.
Journal ArticleDOI
Evaluation of gas content of coalbed methane reservoirs with the aid of geophysical logging technology
TL;DR: In this paper, the relationship between coalbed gas content of coal reservoir and characteristics of geophysical logs has been investigated by means of the combined analyses of experimental and geophysical logging data.
