Journal ArticleDOI

Two types of ribosome in mouse-hamster hybrid cells.

TL;DR: This work has made use of the observation that free ribosomes from hamster cells form dimers in conditions where mouse free Ribosomes remain as monomers, dimers or as both to determine whether mouse-hamster hybrid cells contain freeribosomes as monomer, dimer or both.
Journal ArticleDOI

Short-lived, small RNAs in the cytoplasm of HeLa cells

TL;DR: Two methylated species of mammalian cytoplasmic RNA from HeLa cells are described and appear to be coded by the nuclear genome, as ethidium bromide has little effect on their transcription.
Journal ArticleDOI

Additional MDA‐MB‐231 breast cancer cell matrix metalloproteinases promote invasiveness

TL;DR: The data support the conclusion that some cancer cell MMPs, although expressed at low levels, are needed for cancer trait in MDA‐MB‐231 cells, and that several endogenous M MPs play non‐redundant roles in this process.
Journal ArticleDOI

Small RNAs in the nucleus and cytoplasm of hela cells

TL;DR: The data suggest that species A and B, found in the cytoplasm, are precursor forms of nuclear RNAs C and D, respectively.
Journal ArticleDOI

Formation of low molecular weight RNA species in HeLa cells

TL;DR: It has been previously shown that newly synthesized nuclear low molecular weight RNA species C and D are first detected in the cytoplasm for a few minutes before they are finally found in the nucleus, and the observations made in the present study are compatible with the existence of more than one nuclear UTP pool.
