Foreground simulations for the LOFAR-epoch of reionization experiment

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present simulated astrophysical foregrounds data cubes and discuss their possible statistical effects on the data, and show that with the expected LOFAR-EoR sky and receiver noise levels, which amount to approximate to 52 mK at 150 MHz after 400 h of total observing time, a simple polynomial fit allows a statistical reconstruction of the signal.
Journal ArticleDOI

A marked correlation function analysis of halo formation times in the Millennium Simulation

TL;DR: In this article, the authors studied the environmental dependence of the formation epoch of dark matter haloes in the Millennium Simulation, a ten billion particle N-body simulation of standard Lambda cold dark matter cosmology.
Journal ArticleDOI

Foreground simulations for the LOFAR - Epoch of Reionization Experiment

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present simulated astrophysical foregrounds datacubes and discuss their possible statistical effects on the data and show that with the expected LOFAR-EoR sky and receiver noise levels, which amount to ~52 mK at 150 MHz after 300 hours of total observing time, a simple polynomial fit allows a statistical reconstruction of the signal.
