TL;DR: In this paper, the NiII coordination polymers [Ni2(HCOO)4(H2O)4]n (1), [Na2Ni(btec)(H 2O)8]n(2; H4btec = 1,2,4,5-benzenetetetracarboxylic acid) and [{Ni(pdc)(H&O)2}·H2Osn (3; H2pdc = pyridine-2-5-dicarboxyl acid]n
Abstract: Three novel NiII coordination polymers [Ni2(HCOO)4(H2O)4]n (1), [Na2Ni(btec)(H2O)8]n (2; H4btec = 1,2,4,5-benzenetetracarboxylic acid) and [{Ni(pdc)(H2O)2}·H2O]n (3; H2pdc = pyridine-2,5-dicarboxylic acid) have been hydrothermally synthesized and their structures determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The formate groups in complex 1 bridge the NiII ions to form a infinite 3D structure. Complex 2 also possesses a infinite 3D structure and the coordination environment of the NiII ion is a perfect octahedron. Complex 3 is a 2D infinite coordination polymer. The surface photovoltage spectra of complexes 1–3 indicate that they all show three positive surface photovoltage (SPV) responses in the range of 300–800 nm and all show p-type semiconductor characteristics. Although the intensities of the SPV responses are obviously different, this can mainly be attributed to the difference of their structures. The field-induced surface photovoltage spectra (FISPS) of complexes 1–3 confirm their p-type semiconductor characteristics. (© Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, 69451 Weinheim, Germany, 2006)

TL;DR: In this article, two novel Cd(II) coordination polymers [Cd4(C6H4O2N)8(H2O)4]n (1) and [cd2(C10H 2O8)(H2Os6]n(2) have been synthesized under hydrothermal condition and structurally characterized.
Abstract: Two novel Cd(II) coordination polymers [Cd4(C6H4O2N)8(H2O)4]n (1) and [Cd2(C10H2O8)(H2O)6]n (2) have been synthesized under hydrothermal condition and structurally characterized. Crystal data: (1), orthorhombic, Pbca, a=11.4494(19) A, b=12.0969(6) A, c=17.4073(8) A, V=2410.9(4) A3, Z=8, D calc=2.064 g·cm−3; (2), triclinic, P $$\overline 1$$ , a=5.5962(7) A, b=7.7758(6) A, c=9.6975(10) A, α=111.981(5)°, β=101.649(6)°, γ=98.240(5)°, V=371.95(7) A3, Z=2, D calc=2.603 g·cm−3. Complex (1) possesses three-dimensional infinite structure, while complex (2) adopts two-dimensional layers and the layers are connected by the many types of hydrogen bonds, forming three-dimensional network. Study results of the photophysical properties show that both complexes can emit strong blue fluorescence and complex (1) also emits phosphorescence (λ pl max=511 nm, τ=32 ms) in the solid state at room temperature.

TL;DR: In the title compound, Na3[Ni(C3H 2O4)2]Cl·6H2O, two crystallographically independent Ni atoms lie on centres of symmetry, each coordinated by four O atoms from two malonate ligands and by two water molecules in a distorted octahedral geometry.
Abstract: In the title compound, Na3[Ni(C3H2O4)2]Cl·6H2O, two crystallographically independent Ni atoms lie on centres of symmetry, each coordinated by four O atoms from two malonate ligands and by two water molecules in a distorted octahedral geometry. The Ni—O bond lengths are in the range 1.994 (18)–2.137 (2) A. The three Na+ ions are coordinated by seven O atoms, six O atoms, and five O and one Cl atom. The crystal packing is stabilized by the three-dimensional hydrogen-bonding network formed by O—H⋯O and O—H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds.

TL;DR: In this paper, the Ag atom is coordinated by two N atoms from pyridine-4-carboxylic acid ligands, and an infinite hydrogen-bonding structure between cation, anion and water molecules results in the formation of a double chain parallel to the b axis.
Abstract: In the title compound, [Ag(C6H5NO2)2]NO3·2H2O, the Ag atom is coordinated by two N atoms from pyridine-4-carboxylic acid ligands. An infinite hydrogen-bonding structure between cation, anion and water molecules results in the formation of a double chain parallel to the b axis. These double chains are interconnected by weak O⋯Ag interactions involving one O atom of a neighbouring nitrate.

TL;DR: In this paper, one Zn atom is involved in the formation of one-dimensional infinite zigzag anionic chains, whereas the second Zn, located on a twofold axis, is surrounded by six water molcules as a hexaaqua cation.
Abstract: In the title compound, {[ZnCl2(C6H4NO2)]2[Zn(H2O)6]·2H2O}n, one Zn atom is involved in the formation of one-dimensional infinite zigzag anionic chains, whereas the second Zn atom, located on a twofold axis, is surrounded by six water molecules as a hexaaqua cation. The occurrence of O—H⋯O and O—H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds results in a supramolecular three-dimensional network.
