Eddy van Doorslaer,Adam Wagstaff,Hattem Van Der Burg,Terkel Christiansen,Guido Citoni,Rita Di Biase,Ulf-G Gerdtham,Michael Gerfin,Lorna Gross,Unto Häkinnen,Jürgen John,Paul Johnson,Jan Klavus,Claire Lachaud,Jørgen Lauritsen,Robert E. Leu,Brian Nolan,João Pereira,Carol Propper,Frank Puffer,Lise Rochaix,Martin Schellhorn,Gun Sundberg,Olaf Winkelhake +23 more
TL;DR: The general finding of this study is that the vertical effect is much more important than horizontal inequity and reranking in determining the overall redistributive effect but that their relative importance varies by source of payment.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors decompose the redistributive effect of personal income taxes (PITs) of twelve OECD countries into four components: (i) an average rate effect, (ii) a departure from proportionality or progressivity, (iii) a horizontal equity effect and (iv) a reranking effect.

Are Bruxellois and Walloons more optimistic about their health
TL;DR: Using the data collected for the year 2004 in the Belgian Health Survey, it is shown that, controlling for all the determinants of self-reported health state, there is a residual effect of geographic location on the self-assessed health, namely a more favourable scoring for individuals that are resident both in the regions of Brussels and in the region of Walloonia.

Giuseppe Giannicola,Gianluca Bullitta,Federico M. Sacchetti,Marco Scacchi,David Polimanti,Guido Citoni,Gianluca Cinotti +6 more
TL;DR: It is shown that open surgery significantly improves quality of life and elbow function and shows a satisfactory cost/utility ratio, justifying a health spending increase to reduce the social costs resulting from lingering elbow stiffness.
