Journal ArticleDOI

Genetic diversity in wild sweet cherries (Prunus avium) in Turkey revealed by SSR markers.

TL;DR: This level of genetic diversity in these wild sweet cherry genotypes is very high and therefore these trees would be useful as breeders for crosses between cultivated sweet cherry and wild genotypes.
Journal ArticleDOI

Molecular determination of genotoxic effects of cobalt and nickel on maize (Zea mays L.) by RAPD and protein analyses.

TL;DR: RAPD profiles and total soluble protein levels can be applied to detect genotoxicity, and these analyses can offer useful biomarker assays for the evaluation of genotoxic effects on Co- and Ni-polluted plants.
Journal Article

Identification of apricot cultivars in Turkey (Prunus armeniaca L.) using RAPD markers

TL;DR: The variation detected among the closely related genotypes indicates the efficiency of RAPD markers over the morphological and isozyme markers for the identification and construction of genetic linkage maps.
Journal ArticleDOI

Assessment of genotoxic effects of 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid on maize by using RAPD analysis

TL;DR: The results showed that increasing concentrations of 2,4-D caused a decrease in the root length and an increase in the total soluble protein levels of the seedlings, and Genomic template stability (GTS), carried out for the qualitative assessment of alterations in RAPD profiles, was also significantly affected by increasing concentrations.
