Quantitative study of Portland cement hydration by X-ray diffraction/rietveld analysis and independent methods
TL;DR: In this article, an extension of this technique to a pilot study of the hydration of a typical Portland cement was described. But the results were compared with independent measures of the same materials by the analysis of backscattered electron images (BSE/IA) and thermogravimetric analysis.
Journal ArticleDOI
Cement and carbon emissions
TL;DR: In this article, a new class of clinkers described in this paper can reduce CO2 emissions by 20 to 30% when compared to the manufacture of traditional PC Clinker, and the authors of the cement industry roadmap point out that the extrapolation of existing technologies (fuel efficiency, alternative fuels and biomass, and clinker substitution) will only take us half the way towards these goals.
Journal ArticleDOI
Where is the iron? Clinker microanalysis with XRD Rietveld, optical microscopy/point counting, Bogue and SEM-EDS techniques
TL;DR: In this paper, the amount of elemental substitution within the major clinker phases was determined by SEM-EDS microanalyses and the results show that defined amounts of iron oxide can be incorporated within the alite, belite and aluminate phases.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of gaseous cement industry effluents on four species of microalgae
Amélie Talec,Myrvline Philistin,Myrvline Philistin,Frédérique Ferey,Günther Walenta,Jean-Olivier Irisson,Jean-Olivier Irisson,Olivier Bernard,Antoine Sciandra,Antoine Sciandra +9 more
TL;DR: Results show that growth for the four microalgal species is not affected by the CFG, and dust added at realistic concentrations do not have any impact on growth.

Hydraulic binder with a base of sulfoaluminate clinker and portland clinker
TL;DR: The present invention relates to a composition including at least a Portland clinker and a Belite-Calcium-Sulphoaluminate-Ferrite clinker (BCSAF) as discussed by the authors.
