Journal ArticleDOI

Accuracy of magnetic resonance imaging in prediction of tumour-free resection margin in rectal cancer surgery.

TL;DR: MRI with a phased-array coil showed moderate accuracy and reproducibility for predicting the tumour stage of rectal cancers, allowing preoperative identification of patients at risk of recurrence who will benefit from preoperative radiotherapy, more extensive surgery, or both.
Journal ArticleDOI

No efficacy of annual gynaecological screening in BRCA1/2 mutation carriers; an observational follow-up study.

TL;DR: Despite annual gynaecological screening, a high proportion of ovarian cancers in BRCA1/2 carriers are interval cancers and the large majority of all cancers are diagnosed in advanced stages, so it is unlikely that annual screening will reduce mortality from ovarian cancer in B RCA 1/2 mutation carriers.
Journal ArticleDOI

High-resolution magnetic resonance imaging of the anorectal region without an endocoil.

TL;DR: The MR technique with an external phased array coil allows detailed imaging of the anal sphincter at rest, the rectum, and the surrounding pelvic structures with one single investigation and suggests useful applications in the management of anorectal diseases.
