Journal ArticleDOI
Oral phosphodiesterase-5 inhibitors: effect of heme oxygenase inhibition on cGMP signalling in rat cavernous tissue.
M. T. Abdel Aziz,Taymour Mostafa,Hazem Atta,L. Rashed,Samar Marzouk,Eman Obaia,Dina Sabry,Amira Hassouna,Amal El-Shehaby,Ahmed T. Abdel Aziz +9 more
TL;DR: It is concluded that the effects of these PDE‐5 inhibitors in rat cavernous tissue are partly mediated through HO activity via the cGMP signalling pathway.
Journal ArticleDOI
Novel Water-soluble Curcumin Derivative Mediating Erectile Signaling
Mohamed T. Abdel Aziz,Mohammed F. El Asmer,Ameen M Rezq,Taha A. Kumosani,Samya Mostafa,Taymour Mostafa,Hazem Atta,Mohamed A Wassef,Hanan Fouad,Laila A. Rashed,Dina Sabry,Amira Hassouna,Amira M. Senbel,Ahmed T. Abdel Aziz +13 more
TL;DR: Water-soluble long-acting curcumin derivative could mediate erectile function via upregulating cavernous tissue cGMP and exhibited more significant potentiation of intracavernosal pressure as compared to control and to the pureCurcumin.
Journal Article
Screening for human papillomavirus (HPV) in Egyptian women by the second-generation hybrid capture (HC II) test.
Mohamed T. Abdel Aziz,Mohamed Zayed Abdel Aziz,Hazem Atta,Olaf Gamll Shaker,Manal Mohsen Abdel Fattah,Gamal Mohsen,Hanan Hosnoi Ahmed,Douaa A El Derwi +7 more
TL;DR: HPV testing using the HC II assay is a useful tool when combined with cytology in the diagnosis of high-risk HPV viral types in apparently normal tissues, suggesting an association between viral load and risk of SIL and, accordingly, cancer.
Journal ArticleDOI
ORIGINAL RESEARCH—BASIC SCIENCE: Effect of Hemin and Carbon Monoxide Releasing Molecule (CORM-3) on cGMP in Rat Penile Tissue
M. Talaat Abdel Aziz,M. Farid El-Asmar,Taymour Mostafa,Hazem Atta,Hanan Fouad,Nagwa K. Roshdy,Laila A. Rashed,Eman A. Obaia,Dina Sabry,Ahmed T. Abdel Aziz,George S. Drummond,Rafał Olszanecki +11 more
TL;DR: Assessment of the effect of upregulating CO in rat corpora cavernosa on cavernous cGMP found that CORM-3- or hemin-mediated CO release could increase cavernous tissue cG MP.
Journal ArticleDOI
Clinical significance of vascular endothelial growth factor in hepatitis C related hepatocellular carcinoma in Egyptian patients
M.M. Atta,Hazem Atta,Magdy A. Gad,L. Rashed,Ebada Said,Sharaf El-Sayed Ali Hassanien,Ahmed Kaseb +6 more
TL;DR: Using both the VEGF and alpha-fetoprotein levels to detect HCC maximizes the sensitivity and specificity and may be a useful diagnostic and prognostic marker for HCC in patients who have been diagnosed with CHC.
