Gene Expression of Heme Oxygenase-1: Relationship to Fibrogenic and Apoptotic Factors in Murine Schistosomiasis
Mohamed T. Abdel Aziz,Mohamed F. El-Asmar,Hazem Atta,Yasser Nassar,Olfat G. Shaker,Manal Mohsen Abd elfattah,Amina K. El-Ansary,Hanan Fouad,Nagwa K. Roshdy,H. Hosni,Laila A. Rashed,Dina Sabry +11 more
TL;DR: Heme oxygenase-1 gene expression may play a role in the modulation of the immunopathology of schistosomiasis and hence, indirectly influence fibrogenesis and prevent cirrhosis, suggest that, as a stress inducible protein, HO-1 might be part of the protective mechanisms elicited by the acute phase response in Schistosoma mansoni infection.
Journal ArticleDOI
Autism and Fragile X: Is There a Neurochemical Link?
TL;DR: Assessment of Serotonin, Glutamate, and Gama Amino Butyric Acid in autism and Fragile X syndrome patients detected possible neurochemical similarities between the 2 disorders and Serotonin was significantly different in the2 disorders and may be used a unique biomarker for autism.
Journal ArticleDOI
AB0102 Cartilage Paste Impregnated with Mesenchymal Stem Cells (MSCS) Repair Focal Articular Cartilage Defects in Rabbits
Hazem Atta,Laila A. Damiati,Mohammed Alkaff,Mohammed M. Abbas,Mamdooh M. Kotb,G. Karrouf,Soheir Mahfouz +6 more
TL;DR: Repairs of focal articular cartilage defects using autologous cartilage paste impregnated with MSCs appears to be successful as proven clinically, radiologically, as well as pathologically.
Original article: HEME OXYGENASE EFFECT ON MESENCHYMAL STEM CELLS ACTION ON EXPERIMENTAL ALZHEIMER'S DISEASE
TL;DR: MSCs alone or with HO-1 induction exert a therapeutic effect against the brain lesion in Alzheimer’s disease possibly through decreasing the brain cholesterol level and increasing seladin-1 gene expression.
